I don't gamble, I like to verify a board is at fault first.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
There is no fuse.
I can get a good used board for $40(refundable less $15).
How good a gambler are you?Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
It looks like there is a fuse on the main logic board; check if this is okay.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
See post 4. PlainBill calls it the main logic board.
That one?Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
Is that the same as the Logic-Main board?
I'll start a thread for the Panasonic.
Thanks

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
Well, I'm going to place a bet on the plasma control board being at fault, because you have sound and the startup chime. But I can't be certain.

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
It would be rather nice to determine the cause. Strangely enough, we have been having startup problems with a Panasonic rear projection (and still are) and the Samsung, having been barely used and very reliable was being moved to replace it. It would be good to get one of them fixed.

That's good. That means the screen itself is probably good.Leave a comment:

Yes. There are two flickers of light when I power on.
The screen has low level grey glow in dark room. Not noticeable in daylight.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
Do you get any light from the screen at all? YYou might need to turn all the lights out and close the curtains as it can be very faint on some plasma displays.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
For the heck of it, I measured the heat sink temps after 15 minutes of run time.
They were all warm, from 112F on the PS to 102F and 94F on the Y and X(Z) boards.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
Stock screws were used - I thought the same thing initially but on examining the stand bracket inside the tv - plenty of clearance.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
if it worked fine till you reattached the stand is it possible you used the wrong bolts to put the stand on?iirc i saw this on a westinghouse.too long of bolts damaged a board.Leave a comment:

Tom66...
Is the buzzing normal?
I disconnected each buffer in turn and saw no change.
Grasping at straws.

Re: Samsung 50" plasma blank screen
Hi tom66....
Yes - both boards-seems to emanate from the centre of the large heat sink on the left board. Hard to discern on the right board. Both very faint and slightly different pitch.

Do you hear a faint buzzing sound from either board on the left or right of the TV while in operation?Leave a comment:

by mrtekHi I am new to this kind of repairs but I want to learn..I have a Samsung UN65JS8500F. the TV used to work and I tried to fix darker areas in the middle only ( img 1,2,3). I thought the led strip were bad..not the case. I did not research in advance what kind and where the LED were located. In this model they are located vertically on right and left side. Took the TV apart and put it back together. Now the tv shows no welcome screen and no sound is available thru the speakers. ..just a black screen..Backlight LED do turn on...also noticed a 5 blink code , not sure if that was there before. I can...6 Photos

by ChrissygizmoHi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...
The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...05-26-2024, 12:05 AM -

I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊
the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.
This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when... -

by BloopetaSamsung UE55JU6800K with no image on screen.
I have had this TV many years without fault, however aprox 6 months ago I fitted a new set of backlights as some of the lens caps had fallen off.
Was working fine, until 3 days ago, when watching TV the screen just went blank (still illuminated)
I turned the TV off and left it around 12 hours, and when turned it on again it seemed to work perfectly again. After around 45 mins the screen went blank again.
Left it off overnight and turned it on, and the Smart TV logo came on as normal, then screen went blank.
