    Samsung LN52A550P3F ...... Vertical Lines/Black Screen

The sound is fine on this one.

But the owner cannot see the menu, because the
screen is either random colored vertical lines, or a black
screen. When it's a black screen, he can still see the
    backlight lamp illuminated.

He thought it was the T-con board, but after
replacing it, the problem was still there.

Ideas on this one? Thanks for your time.....

    Re: Samsung LN52A550P3F ...... Vertical Lines/Black Screen

It was the T-con board on a 40" Samsung I had that caused this problem. A voltage regulator on it failed. It's possible he received a faulty T-con.

The remaining candidates are the main board and power supply. Or a loose T-con connector.

I would go for it - sounds like an easy fix. Even if you bought both boards, that's going to be cheaper than a new 52" LCD. But don't pay more than $50.

Actually, this is a repair job. He's not selling it.

I seem to remember you said you don't do repairs for other people.

But if you did, what would you charge for the labor? Excluding
the cost of boards you may have to order....

After my last TV job, I understand why the repair guys
      charge so much.....

Well, it would take me around 2 hours, £60/hour... plus tax and parts etc.

I'd make more money repairing TVs myself to sell, that's why I don't repair them.

Yes, that's become quite clear to me now.

Problem is, I have a Honda Accord, which barely fit a 46"
in the back seat last time, so I have doubts about moving
a 52".....maybe time to call a friend with a truck.... hehe

            Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
            by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
            by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

Samsung LE32C530F1W with vertical lines on Screen
            by Kambi13
Hello all, I'm dealing with a Samsung LE32C530F1W that now has vertical lines on the right side. It started with a ghost image on the top of the screen and then I tried the old trick of masking a few contacts in the flat cable that connects the T-Con board to the screen with some tape. It worked for a while and now out of the blue it turned into what you can see in the pic. I was able to get my hands on a known good T-Con board but the problem still persists. Now, what I've noticed is that the cooper colored flat cables that are directly connected to the screen itself are very hot to the touch...

LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE - Vertical Lines on Half of The Screen?
            by ItalianSat
            Hello Everybody,

I have a 40 inch LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE. Its problem is that there are Vertical Lines on Right Half of The Screen.

Interestingly enough, when I move my mouse (in the case if connected to a PC) or when I am watching the TV, lines also move. At first appearance, I had thought that the problem might arose from loose vertical ribbons (COF), but when I opened up the TV for further investigations, I realized that the problem cannot be solved by touching them.

Moreover, I detached the T-CON board for a new round of investigation. I personally...

1/3rd of screen black with occasional vertical lines - repair attempt for learning! - Kogan KALED58RT9220SVA
            by Firentiosi
Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...
