Re: phillips 47pfl7422d is dim on left side of lcd

    @ Tom66 and/or anyone -
I've removed all four 680uF / 35V caps. I've got a couple 1000uF / 50V caps from work - do you think I can use these or should I just order the correct caps?

I'm a field engineer, not a design engineer. If I remember my college days correctly, I should still be within the 20% tolerance if these are wired in series. However, if they are wired in parallel then I'd be well over 30% off on total capacitance. I'm assuming they are just starter caps, and taken out of the circuit once fully energized?

    Thanks again!

Well I found out that it totally depends on the circuit that is being worked on... For example whilst learning I changed a cap for a higher microfarad and voltage and it dodnt cause an issue, Did the same thing on another board and when plugged in... BANG! Fried 5 SMD ceramic resistors Lovely smell it made too but i fixed that and put the correct caps on and working fine.

Someone else will be able to give you a more precise answer as I'm still learning but thats my view anyway

Same Issue Here. No backlight, all 4 caps on inverter boards bad. Replaced 4 caps with replacement suggested on first page and left side still dim. Soldered jumper onto ceramic fuse and works perfect. Now ordering replacement for ceramic fuse, then fixing correctly.

Replaced capacitors on the slave left side(there were burnt up, and I tested them for fun)- didn't work.
Replaced slave inverted board - didn't work.
Power going to master and slave are constant 24volts
Does this mean the bulbs are bad?

Have you checked the fuses? Based on other replies in this thread, these could be o/c.

Tested fuses they were fine on the inverter boards.
Is there any other fuses I should test, I saw a couple others fuses on the power board amd they tested fine as well.

Can you replace the master board with a slave?
