Help Vizio VW32LHDTV10A no pix no sound no backlight

I am trying to troubleshoot a VW32LHDTV10A. The orginial complaint is that it would sometimes not power up (VIZIO turns white but no picture no sound no backlight). Since this is an intermittent issue I am having trouble with diagnosis. The first time I tried to turn it on the problem showed up. When I turned it off and back on the unit turned on normally. I let the unit run for about 6 hours before it shut it itself off. Let unit set unplugged for several days before I could examine it. Since that time everytime I plug it in and turn to test it, it works. Checking the voltage regulators I get the following voltages

    U2 2.07 3.34 5.13 AMC1117
    U7 0 1.28 3.32 AMC1117
    U8 2.06 3.33 5.18 AMC1117
    U9 0 1.51 3.33 K1117S15
    U10 1.38 2.63 5.13 1084
    U33 2.05 3.32 5.14 AMC1117
    U3 11.96 0 5 7805

Looking at some of the other treads these voltages look in range to me. Also this board is loaded with Taicon lytic caps.

    Any thoughts?

I had something similar that made me simply buy a replacement mainboard. The processor on mine was getting too warm.

That might explain the shutdown, but I can't find anything on the original problem.

The problems are all included within the mainboard.

Here's some info on a related Vizio.

When researching this problem try to use these different vizio model numbers. They're not all built the same but they all share common failures.

Sorry the brain didn't connect with the fingers on the last post. An overheating processor wouldn't cause the original problem. I have looked at a lot of the other threads and have checked all of the regulators. Unless I have missed something all of the voltages seem to be in range. I unfortunately do not own an ESR meter so I can't check the caps.

Using the numbers taken from the photo " 0171 2272 2292", I found a replacement mainboard on ebay for $60. There is no shipping cost and theres a seven day return policy. This is a cheap time saving thing to try since you've kinda weeded out the usual stuff.

I wonder if I might have a cold solder joint somewhere?

Mine is similar. However how hot is normal for the processor? I think it would get warmer when in use. Mine gets quite warm but all the voltages are still normal.
Mine just has P/S problems, and today I am going to try soldering around on the P/S to see if it will revive the missing 12 and 24 section.
I would love to know what PIN 1 of J1 the PS_ON voltages are when set is in standby and when set is on. When I attempt to strap mine to 3.3 or 5v it only causes the relay to click amd shut down the P/S as it is normally closed, and feeding AC to the main section.

Something is just plain flaked then...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                  by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                  by Ierwin
                  Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                  by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...
