Samsung LE40R88BDX Relay clicking and no screen

Hi there hope someone can help the above tv has got the same problems as everyone else's lol. The tv wont switch on at all a friend of mine had the same problem and just replaced the two caps that were swollen. Today I bought some caps and replaced the two that were swollen on mine, there values were exactly the same as the old ones but better make. Well couldn't wait to switch the set on and it didn't work, it always happens to me lol.

What should be my next move guys ,should I replace the rest of the caps that don't seem to have anything wrong with them, I checked the solder joints on the back of the PCB but couldn't see anything bad, I did touch up a couple of them but to no avail. I did put some pics on my travel site on the banter section but didnt want to place the link on here incase its not allowed.

Any help would be most appreciated and If I can help anyone with the same hobbies as me I will try my best.

Radio Amateur and Travel Mallorca is my hobbies.

Thanks for the reply sabre504, its so frustrating when the cap change has worked for so many others GRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr. Im hoping it is another cap that has not shown up as a blown one. Ive also read somewhere about an eprom reset but cant find it now, hoping someone can shine some light on this as well.

The clock and data pins are pins 5 and 6 and are identifiable by the 100 ohm smd resistors connected to each of them. Fit a shorting link (on long wires) between the pins. Reassemble the chassis. Switch on and then remove the short. Bring the set out of standby. Now access the service mode as follows-
Using the remote control, switch to standby, press info, menu, mute and power. The set should start and display the service menu. Using scroll keys select item 8 and enter by scrolling right. Select "tuner" and set to auto. Revert to previous screen by pressing menu. Now scroll to "reset" and enter by scrolling right. The set will revert to standby. Power back on and tune in stations.
              If you fancy trying this

The chip is on the back of the main board so you have to take it off
turn it over and if memory serves it should be somewhere near the top left corner

Tried alot of times with the resetting of the eprom, the clicking has now stopped and the tv switches on and off but still no screen, I read one guy that said it took him 25 goes, if all else fails it looks like it is a corrupt eprom.

when replacing the eprom would i still have to change settings in service menu? or is this only when shorting pins 5 and 6 on the old one? ive got the same problem relay just clicking after changing caps

ive shorted the pins but then realised i havent got the damn remote!

                            by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
                            by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

                            HI guys!

I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊

the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.

This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when...

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
                            by kotel studios
                            Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....
