Prive 32" LCD TV Red Blinking Light

Hi this is a Prive 32" LCD TV.. similar to the Soyo. Original customer complaint is that it won't turn on.. you just get a red blinking light on the front panel.

Customer already bought replacement power supply board, it didn't solve his problem. I checked the replacement PS board.. all the caps test fine ESR wise. Checked output voltage. The only thing I'm getting is 5VDC.. there is no 12VDC at all.

Checked the caps in the power distribution board.. they all test OK.

Decided to check all the caps on the logic/video board. The caps marked in black on the photo are bad.

Any thoughts about the lack of 12VDC? Thanks!

Most LCD TVs only have a standby supply running (3.3 or 5 volts usually) until the unit is turned on. Apparently the main board is not telling the power board to turn on. That is why you don't have 12 volts.

Thanks for the info. Couldn't wait for any more feedback here so I ended up bringing the board to another technician where I live who has more experience than me.

After a few tests.. he confirmed the board was faulty.. so I guess the customer is sending it back for RMA.
