Thin line on plasma tv screen

Hi. I recently purchased an Insignia NS-P42Q-10A (samsung guts). It had sound but no picture. I found a burnt chip on the y-buffer. Changed y-buffer. Tv now working fine except for a small vertical line on the screen. The line is about 1/16 inch wide and is only visible on the upper half of the screen. The bottom half of the screen is fine. It changes color depending on the picture on the screen but is red when the screen is dark and green when the screen is light but can vary in color also so that sometimes it is hard to see. Hopefully the pics will help describe the problem. I would really like to get rid of this line as I cant stop staring at it and am sure it cant be good for the screen. Does anybody have any ideas? The y-buffer seems to control left to right bars. Could it be something with the x-buffer? Money is tight so the less parts I have to repair the better. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

This can sometimes be caused by a bad upper X buffer, but depending on the design the panel could be bad too. Some manufacturers put X driver ICs on the flexible connectors. If those ICs go, the panel is unrepairable. Whether it's planned obsolescence, or bad design, I don't know.

Thanks tom66. I dont recall seeing any ICs on the Y connectors. I'll have a look at the x's later today.
