    AD301M24-4N1 low secondary?

    Hi
i have a 42" LCD tv that recently decided to display green and then started to give artefacts on the screen. I looked inside and found a blown cap on the power supply. tho the power output was good, but i replaced the cap and then decided to do all the secondary caps on the outputs, i tried the tv again but no change to the dodgy picture, i then changed the T-con board and again no issue and so assumed it was the main signal board, I tried the old heatgun over the signal board incase it was a dry joint but no use, and so went to order a new main board. However when i tried the old board one last time i didn't get any picture at all, i get the standby light and it flashes when i press power but nothing.

So i measured voltages - I have 5v where it says 5v out (this was 4.8ish before i changed the caps) but i have only 3.84 volts on the 12v rail, when i press the power button there is noise in response - a high frequency noise that makes me think there is activation of the transformer, but no change in voltage, there is a on off lead from psu to motherboard but this has about 0.1v on it in standby and then goes upto 0.4-0.5v when the tv is turned on. I am questioning if the capacitors i have used have caused the issue if they might not be low esr enough? but there is also a possiblity that the old cap blew because of a fault.

There is a repair kit listed on repair sites for this tv that mentions lots of resistors but having had a look with my mm they all seem to be fine to me.

Can anyone advise me where to go next with testing this?

Those look like NIC capacitors, and will probably not work.

they are NIC - i that my mistake?
would they mess anything else up or just cause lack of action?

right... replaced those with the original ones, and used a working one from off a junk board to replace the broken one, plugged it in and there was smoke... not a pop or a bang just a slow generation of smoke for about 20 seconds, and the 5v line has gone, the 12 and 24v work perfectly so my bad with the caps there! but no idea why the 5v has gone now
any idea what component trends to smoke slowly? it was from around the 5v transformer but didn't seem to come from a specifif component.... just pulled the 5v transformer and but not 100% what i;m checking... there are 4 pins going in 2 pairs i assume with 0 ohmes between each pair and one pair coming off with again o ohmes between them. theres infinite between primary and secondard sides.

i think its my Schottky diode thats gone!
when i test it one way i get 34k ohmes - the other way the auto ranger on my meter just goes nuts between kilo/mega and never gives a reading which i guess is a no no?
and if i try continuity on it i get a negative both ways round,

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
            by Hakuu
            Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

            More Details

            TV Model - LG OLED77G1PUA

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

            Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
            by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
            CN6401
            Pin 01 NC
            Pin 02 NC
            Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
            Pin 04 "N/C"
            Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
            Pin 06 "GND": N/C
            Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
            by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
