Picture on only right half of screen!

I have a chance to pick up a HP PL4260 TV that only shows a picture on half of the screen (like the right side). This was the only problem stated and I haven't been able to talk to the person yet who has the tv. Does anyone have a clue as to what it might be, and do you think it is fixable (by a novice) for a reasonable amount? In other words,,,,,should I take a chance on it? Bill, I know, "another dumb question"

This is one of those questions that is dumb the second time you ask it.

    1. The HP PL4260 is a plasma TV.

    2. The symptoms match a bad left side buffer at about $20.

    3. It could also be the main logic board.

    4. This uses the LG plasma panel that 'eats' hybrids.

Use argument #4, ignore #2 while negotiating, don't pay more than $50.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but it almost looks as if the "break" between the sides is uneven. Though I've never seen a plasma fail almost like an LCD. If the panel is cracked, there will be no picture.

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
          by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started β€˜fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly β€˜new' Tcon board this time, and

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
          by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

LG 55UH6150- trouble powering up, then half lit screen (pictures!)
          by valvashon
The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

TD Systems K50DLG12US half black and half white screen
          by Raulnn
good night! I have this screen that looks half black and half white. the tcon gives a low vgh value (5-6v). the rest seem fine. I first removed the flex from one half of the panel and then the other. Removing the left, vgh increases it to 25-26v. I think the problem is in that area, but there are not many elements on the integrated controller board. there are no shorted capacitors. could they be a cof? Some help?

By the way, now the entire screen is black. Maybe some flex was not connected correctly... I have exchanged the flex and there are no variations, I don't think they are the...

Samsung UN50NU7400 - No Picture (but boot screen and screensaver)
          by arbitarytwist
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?

Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ?
