    Parts Swapping

Have a 42" Magnavox 42MF230A/37 plasma which needs several boards replaced. Not cost effective due to it's age/design issues (2006 model). Have found a broken screen LG 42 inch Plasma (42PC3DV) which supposedly has functioning boards. Any chance I can marry the two? Still waiting for a response from the seller as to what board manufacturer it uses.

Not a chance. The Magnavox uses a Samsung panel, the LG uses an LG panel.

No problem; just wish it was better news.

Sent the guy an email with my phone number...the silence is deafening...

So far my experience with craigslist is that if they don't list a phone number it's probably a scam.

I dont even mess with craigslist unless they put a phone number in the ad. Where in NC are you located KTMLew? I'm in Hendersonville.

DOH! To respond to craigslist through their system you have to use Windows Mail. I set it up and sent 4 messages. Just checked and all failed...so guess they weren't ignoring/scamming after all!!!

I'll try sending myself an email through my gmail and see if it works.

??? That doesn't make any sense.

The essence of email is any email program that can properly talk to an email server can send and receive email. I primarily use Thunderbird, but Gmail, and Yahoo! email also successfully respond to Craigslist ads.

                      Re: Parts Swapping

When I click a CL respond link it would take me to windows mail...which then crapped on my shoes because it wasn't set-up. I normally use yahoo. Windows Mail (new version of outlook express) does not work with the free version of yahoo we all use.

Just went back through the WM set-up and after that it popped a message asking if I wanted to send the 4 messages in my outbox...had just checked and there was no evidence of any emails being sent or drafted...I'm sooooooo confused.

I "resent" the 4 so will see if I hear anything? The message from WM did come through on my gmail...

Sorry for the OT rant...there are 3 LCD's listed with phone numbers that have broken screens too...

Clicking on an email link will launch the default emailer which isn't whatever web email you're using. It's some local application like Outlook Express or Windows Mail.

Just copy the address and subject into your favorite email compose and proceed.

You are exactly right. That is what I was doing. Just decided to set-up Windows Mail and apparently didn't have something set correctly...

To better explain...next-door neighbor updated my laptop to Windows 7 Ultimate last week. It is a tweaked version which will only run Mozilla...so I'm still getting used to everything.

Sorry for the hi-jack of the board...I'm horrible about doing that.

I think the z-sus board might be bad in it. I have not opened it up yet but when you turn the tv on it shows the green light for 3 flashes then goes to red. I will check the caps to see if any are out. Im in Hudson, NC.

The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Some of the surface mounted component parts...

What parts can be salvaged from a plasma with a damaged display panel?
                              by SurrealMustard
I recently found myself the proud owner of a later-model Samsung plasma (the PN59D7000 for those keeping score at home) whose panel was, unfortunately, damaged in transport. I'm now preparing to part it out, but am curious as to whether or not any damage would have come to any of the components by attempting to power it up with the panel being broken. I read in one Avsforum thread (for whatever that's worth 😂) that the "scan driver boards" (by which I assume he means buffer boards) could be impacted by doing so. Is that actually the case? If so, since I don't intend on selling bad...

                              by DynaxSC
                              Hi,

I have an Asus Rog Strix B360-I Gaming with missing parts. I know there is a resistor missing for sure, but nearby it seems there might have been also a transistor or mosfet. Below the picture of the area on the board with the missing parts. The interesting area is inside the rectangle.

I'd appeciate if somebody could make a detailled picture of this area from a working board and post it here. Getting the parts values would also be helpful. The revision of the board is 1.02 .

                              Thanks in advance...
