Anyone develop a method to fix Mura Effect?(Dark Spots or streaks)

I have noticed a lot of posts of LCD's cropping up with the Mura effect. There has got to be some way to fix this or make it less noticeable.

The effect is caused by? Unknown

    The remedy for this? Unknown

It would really be nice to come up with a method to fix this type of issue as your screen is the most expensive part of your LCD.

Any takers I don't want to hear it is impossible you have to replace your screen and yaddah yaddah that is not repair that is a parts swapper .... There must be a way... "The impossible only takes longer!"

I had one older lcd that had the screen burn or defect you are talking about.

I was able to reduce it only because it had advanced adjustments for the three primary colors.

I was able to almost eliminate the defect just by bumping up one of those colors.

I don`t know what this defect is but I have seen it in a few tvs. In fact I have a moniter I repaired and it has a few very small issues with the panel (shaded areas) It doesn`t hurt the picture but you can see it sometimes.

These were in older panels (pre 2006).

If it is a panel issue it is not repairable. If you blame it on the backlight filters I don`t think that is the case either unless it was apart. You would think you would see fingerprints or something.

I have had panels completely apart and never had any issues after putting them back together.

I have torn LCD TV's and Monitors completely apart down to the layers as well...

I know there is a black film on the back of every panel that I have torn apart sometimes these dark spots can be fixed as the black film develops a bubble and pulls away from the screen leaving spot that is lighted differently then the screen. This does not appear to be the case it is as if the spot that I am talking of is burned into the screen.

There has got to be a way to repair this as far as color adjustments I have not really attempted this but someone must have figured out a way to repair this that just has not been figured out yet. Weather its wire glue or removing the lamination and cleaning underneath it.

Thank you for sharing your information with me it is much welcomed I just don't understand how this happens unless there is a flaw in the design of the monitor.

The thing that I did not check is weather it is one of the ccfl light diffusing layers it could be that one of these layers got to hot as it goes from the ccfl on the bottom and it appears to be working its way up.

I notice many LCD TV's suffer from cooling issues as they are not given enough cooling or vents to release the heat in the enclosure. I would say this monitor is roughly 6-7 years old. Other then the dark spot this thing is sweet 1080P Vizo I own two others and swear by the brand name as one of the best makers of LCD TV's ...

I had one face down (on with a picture) and I went to get something to drink and when I returned I was blown away by how hot the whole tv was. these do make alot of heat.

I also noticed that ccfls get burn spots in them where the white is burned out but the defuser panels seem to blend that out. I do think it is a panel issue.

I have an older lcd that still has these problems and I may take it apart to look at little better in depth. It would be nice to fire up the panel with the backlight and defusers removed.

I am sure my wife would love to see that taped to the picture window!

I got a little risky with my hot air station and tried to heat it up in the dark spot while it was on the spot actually got hot and turned white so I removed the heat right away and slapped an ice cube on it... Reason for doing so was I thought that maybe the black laminent put on the back of these glass screens was coming off in these areas... Well now that you guys mention it there are a whole ton of plastic sheets between the screen I almost wonder if dust does not somehow get in there or a bug and heat up causing these films to get cloudy so then the proper amount of light is not showing in this area which in turn is causing the dark areas...

I am really thinking about busting this thing down to bare and testing this theory unless someone can tell me either way.

I had mura on a 42" Toshiba LCD.

The fix was to remove the screws and back cover, leave the TV laying down for two days, then replace the cover, tighten the screws slightly (but not all the way, just enough to hold the case together.) Then enjoy.

The TV previously had really bad mura in the middle of the screen. There's a tiny bit left, but it's 95% gone and far better than when I got it.

I think that it is caused by excessive pressure on the LCD. It is accelerated by thermal effects. It is due to unevenness of the liquid crystal in the panel.

the lcd i got recently has this problem its possible that it was coused when i repaired it.
i may try that as well as adding a hot air release fan to the back of it to help with its over heating.
