I have a polaroid TDA-03211c LCD TV with an IPOS 150 REV. 1.8 Power Supply board, the LCD is black, the power turns on but I have no backlight, I have replaced the capcitors on the power board with the exception of one, the big filter cap which I have just noticed is domed pretty good. The LED in the lower left corner of the board is flashing when the power is turned on and stays off when the power is off. Anyone have any ideas?

I have the exact same problem,does anyone know how to fix this issue?
All the capacitors on the board looks ok except for the big filter cap.

That is definitely bad. Use Panasonic EB series to replace. I had 2 22uf 450v bad on mine.

Remove the black plastic disc on top of the cap to see if the cap is actually domed because sometime the plastic disc is deformed.
The two 22uF 450VDC are in the inevrter section which commonly failed.
Also post the whole board picture of YOUR board so we see how it is.

Also whenever I put a flash light against the TV I can see the blue screen, whenever I press the menu button I can see the menu pop up.. I tried to play a music cd in the dvd player and the sound works.

You have power supply/inverter board combo.
The two lytics caps just above 'PROVIEW' are the commonly fail caps for the inverter circuits, the two transformers to the left of the caps are high voltage inverter transformer.
You have make sure first that the PFC Voltage booster cicuit is working by checking the DCV right at the two legs of the cap, when TV is switched on, the DCV should be >360VDC, the inverter circuit needs that to operate + other command signals.
Bad cap can look normal.

C13 was never installed, but that is in the PFC Voltage booster section.
So as I stated in post 28, do you have Boosted DCV on the main filter cap?

The red stuff is the adhesive used for keeping the part in place during the soldering phase.

The main cap on these proview ipos 150's always looks blown just a crappy top on it. Replace all of the hec brand caps also the primary as its probably junk as well heres one I recapped a few months ago with the same issues as you.

OK, I replaced the 2 22uf 450v that you guys mention, and now the tv is working,.. I guess you were right about bad caps looking normal..

I also have a Vizio E470VL tv that doesn't come on, only the orange light comes on.. But this is the wrong thread to ask for help,But if anyone have any links please post them..

Good to hear I would recommend that you replace all of the caps on that psu even if it seems not appropriate because they are all ticking time bombs.
