Pioneer pdp-4280hd

Hi i have a pioneer pdp_4280hd plasma tv that my friend and i are trying to fix. when we plug it in it clicks once their is a blue light on the bottom that turns on and a red light next to it. The screen doesnt light up or anything and i look at it with a flash light to see if their was picture in the back ground. ive taken the back off and looked at all the caps and they look good but im going to take each board out individually inspect them. ill post pics of the boards once i get them out.

Here's a link to the service manual. It has several troubleshooting steps that might be helpful in deciphering the problem.

I'd start with checking the power supply output with a DVM and move from there.

thanks for the service manual im looking it over right now ill post the results. also do you know where i can by tv bezels and cases? cus this ones is scratched up and dented

so looking over ther service manual it says that the blue red light means "trap switch" im unfamiliar with what a trap switch is if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great! thanks!

ok so i ordered a replacement remote but its not the same as the OG remote and i cant do the steps its asking me to do for the trap switch reset. is there anything else i can do?

Find an origonal remote control.
Part number is AXD1550...ebay has a used one for around $36.00 with shipping included.
There is a website you can google by part number that shows 4 new ones in stock for $40.00 each plus shipping.
That should get it going.

It's the correct remote for that tv....the same one that came with it when new.
I noticed the Pioneer website sells it for around $40.00 new also.
It should work all functions.

i mean will i need to program the remote to the tv cus the screen isnt powering on cus its in a power on standby mode so i donno if thats enough for remotes to sync up. also i was on pioneers website but didnt see where i can buy the remote from them. ill continue looking but would u mind linking me if its not to much trouble? thanks again for all the help!

The remote will work the tv if the tv is operational.
Origonal remote controls always synch with the tv they were made for unless there is something wrong with the tv or remote control.

OK so an update on the tv. I ordered the correct remote and i was able to get in to the clear screen but when i cleared it it just reset again. so i spoke with their field techs(who are very nice and very helpful) and they told me to switch could be back and linked me to part number) now im waiting for that to come in a we will see.
