Re: Panasonic plasma TH-42PZ80U 2 blink 15v SOS

Where should I be finding 15v tp ? Vscan did seem low to me. when the screen powers up the power supply gets loud like inverter under stress so I don't leave it on more than a few seconds last time the 16n55g blew this is my 3rd set

Also I personally didn't replace the TEA1611T plus caps on MC201 and MC301, it was done by a student 3 quarters behind me that could not fix it, this is how I acquired the set

They have slightly different part #s so I presume it's possible to put them the wrong way around and have it not work.

The modules generate the drive waveforms for the 16N55G's.

Unknown didn't even think they would have put them in wrong the boards were removed to do the repairs. Just looked there the same parts but possibly the ic are installed wrong? I have done 3 or 4 of these Panny's with 10 & 2 blinks really easy usually.

Mine gave 15.7V (no blinks); that sounds fine to me.

Brand new here with the same problem on my TH-C50FD18. Did not want to risk soldering parts so bought a new PS board from Panasonic Factory Outlet Store online. Swapped out the entire board and I still have the same 2 blink issue. Another bad board or something else causing the problem? I also do not know which location is MC201 vs. MC301? When testing the boards with refrigerant to cool, the one on the left seems to be the problem. Any help is appreciated as I just paid a pretty penny for a "new" board and didn't fix a thing. Thank you!

So on your NEW board, does freezing it make any difference?

Yes...I froze the same board and TV came on and worked for about 30-40 min until it shut down again.

Sorry..meant to say I froze the same IC chip/capacitor at the same location and the TV worked with the NEW board for approx. 30-40 min.

wait and see what toms and tw2005 thoughts are too if you want but im my opinion your new board is bad too. I take it you dont want to try to replace the old capacitors on your old psu yourself? How good are you at soldering the points are a little small but the job is doable with patience i have done this repair my self and my sets still working great.

Or, in the worst case, there are sellers on eBay doing this repair service for less than $100.

I'd put a ? on whether it is in fact Brand New.

Yes. That is the place. I understood when I bought the board that it was not actually coming from Panasonic but this was the only place that said the board was new. Now that I have done more research, I probably should have either sent my board to someone to fix or tried to do the repair myself.

If you paid by CC/PayPal then I'd first try negotiating with seller to send board back. Clearly faulty board. If that fails then file chargeback or complaint with PayPal.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                                            After all of...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                                            by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
