    LG 50PG20 No power

    Hey Everyone,
Wet behind the ears noob here.. yay! Well my problem is y LG 50pg20. About a year ago it just started turning off on its own. I would just wait a min (about as long as it took to find where my kids have hidden the remote) and turn it back on. It always came back on. The problem persisted but it would only happen every month or so. Wife and I chalked it up to overheating.
Fast forward to last week, I wasn't around when the T.V. finally went off so I'm not sure if there was a "pop". The T.V. will not power up now, not even the the red light around the power button is on.
So that leads me here. I searched google and most of the links came to here.
I pulled the back off the panel and found the power supply, z and y boards. I looked for bulging caps or corrosion but could find nothing. But I cant find a fuse anywhere..

So that's where i am. Any guidance or ideas would be more than appreciated!

    Re: LG 50PG20 No power

It sounds like either the power supply or the main board. Either one could cause a dead set. I would lean toward the power supply based on the fact that the stand-by light doesn't light up. You will need to check the components (transistors, diode, mosfets, fuses, etc.) on the power supply for shorts or otherwise suspicious resistance readings. The main fuse should be near the connector for the power filter. It is the white cylindrical thing with pigtails coming off the ends. Just be aware that if that is blown there is probably more wrong with the power supply and just replacing the fuse will most likely not fix your problem.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
        by PantherDave
        Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Hello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...
