    dell w4200hd tv totally dead

My latest pickup. Guy said he moved and when he picked up the tv, he was unknowlingly stepping on the power cord, the cord pulled out sand the tv hasnt worked since. Dumb story i think, as the cord is made to disconnect and i dont see anything getting hurt, but i suppose anything is possible.

Have already swapped cords and no dice. When plugged in i have nothing. No click, no pop, no led, no screen or backlight, totally dead. I will pull it apart later tonight after th kid goes to sleep. Are there any common probs with this set?

With a story like that, I hope you didn't pay more than $20 for it. It reeks to high heaven.

As I recall, the panel is built by LG Electronics. Heck, the whole thing may be built by LG. Not even a click suggests a problem with the AC input or the standby supply. Or had LG advanced beyond relays by that time???

Re: dell w4200hd tv totally dead

Im a glutton for punishment. $60.

      Heres the kicker- its alive!!!!

FIrst off, he had the thing apart... uhoh i know..

looked around, no bulging caps, fuses rang out good. However i only had one led lit on the power board, No +5 led on the mainboard... HMM..

got to poking around, have +5 out of the ps. Went to test +5 at the mainboard connector, when pushing on the pin with my dmm lead, the +5 lit up on the mainboard. Reached for the power button, click, charge, VIOLA!!!
The frickin power connector to the mainboard was half off!

she was alive!! Ran for about 2 mins then shutoff. The main fuse checks open. DAMN i thought..i knew that was too easy...

Then i got to looking. The moron mustve replaced the fuse trying to make it work. I found it had a 2a fuse in there, the holder called for an 8amp as this is the main fuse! Popped in the correct fuse, back up and running. I read posts about these units buzzing and all kinds of other krap, seems like i got a good one because shes pretty quiet.

Now i just have to fugure out how the hell to switch inputs without a remote to do some further testing, then its time to put it back togther! WHOOHOO!!

it took me a awhile to realize why had no audio- no onboard speakers LOL

man this tv is frickin sweet pic is nice too

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
              by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

              Dell dockstation WD15 is dead
              by Francesc V.
              Hi:

A friend gave me this DELL WD15 dockstation that does nothing. Not detected by computer, no digital output.........just leds shines when it’s plugged in.
Here are the findings, followed by good pictures. :-)

              When pluged in, LED3 glows
Measuring some voltage in the circuit.

              Inductors
              - PL202 has 5V
              - PL201 has 3.3V
              - PL300 has 1V

              V. Regulators
              - UT30 has 19v as input and 6V as output. It seems ok.
              - UT27 (same reference as UT30, has no input/output voltage).

DELL Latitude 5410 - dead; pwrbtn flashing
              by YellowJacket
              Hi folks,
DELL Latitude 5410, board number FDZ41 LA-J371P Rev: 1.0 (A00), schematic uploaded in different post, here is the link --> https://www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=3484415

When I connect it to a power ( DELL round charger, or USB-C ), LED on the power button starts flashing white, and the laptop doesn't do anything ( flashing slows for a very brief time in time when I press it, but it continues again ). Battery is not charging. While the charger is connected, I have few voltages present, but some of them are fluctuating, see attached pictures.

              Dell 3080 Micro BIOS dead
              by tracks
              Hello all,

I have a Dell 3080 Micro with a problem. As it is right now, it seems to be boot looping, maybe... There's no output, just fan on and power led lights up and blinks off every 2 seconds or so.
Previous owner told me he bought it with a BIOS password, he tried to use a CH341A programmer with some random test clip and tried to mess with it while it was powered on. Now it won't boot.

I tried to dump the bios with an EZP2023+ but I can't get a consistent read. Every time the dump is different, so it's unusable. I think the BIOS chip is fried.

Dell E6540 laptop completely dead after dssasembly
              by max-power
Hi, I disassemble my laptop to replace the speakers, to access them, you have to remove everything including the heat sink and fan, unscrew the motherboard, lift it up a bit to access the speaker wire.
that was not the first time I dissasemble it, i did replace the same speaker a few year ago and I repaste it last year, so I had nothing to worry about. but when I put everything back together, its completely dead.

After a bit of investigating, i found one pin of the status led ribbon cable that was unglued from the cable and bend touching another pin, I bend it back at his place...
