    42lg30-ua lcd inverters

I just picked up this 42" lcd 2008 model 42lg30-ua.
It has an inverter problem. There is a master and a slave inverter and I am not sure how these work together. I am going to remove and test the transformers.

Looking for some insight on this design and have read you should change in pairs.

    Thanks!

This will help you ensure that is is the inverters, and not a power supply problem. Normally the only thing I will attempt to repair on inverters is the capacitors. If they are puffy or bulged.

Other than that, you normally just replace the inverters.......

I have just changed one inverter before, but it is a risk. If you can, best to change both.

Nice! I found a shorted transister and a blown surface mount fuse on the slave inverter.
I have 24v to the board... power supply is good.

The master inverter fires up and I do get backlight for a few seconds.
I removed all transformers and checked primary and secondary and all were good/same.

I am going to replace the fuse and transister and it should be good to go I hope.

Thanks for the info and the feedback!
