Vizio VP50 HDTV10A No Video. No Sound

I have a VP50 HDTV10A. No sound, No picture. Only the green led on the front comes on. I hear the relays click in the back.
I took the back off. Plugged it in and turned it on. I get D3, D4, and D5 that come on. After about 1 second D5 goes out. After another 5 seconds a relay on the power board clicks, and all the LEDs go out. The green LED remains on on the front of the set.
All of the fuses check out.
There are a few Caps on the power board that are bulged. Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

There is no way the TV will work with bulged caps. There may be other things wrong, but you definitely need to change the caps first.

Since there is no picture, the standard recommendation here is to replace all the bulged and non bulged caps with good quality low ESR caps.

Caps don't have to bulge in order to be bad. They can be out of uF spec (3300uF measures 500uF) or have high ESR (ohms). Caps also die from heat.

I'm having a similar issue, VP50 HDTV10A - I turn the TV on, and within 5-60 seconds I hear a relay click and the TV turns off. Looking through the back with a flashlight, I can see some bulging caps (some even with some black buildup at the center of the X). If I unplug for 5 minutes or so, I can repeat the above process.

I found a guy on eBay that sells all 10 capacitors as a "repair kit" with instructions for $29+s&h:

I'll get some help to pull the TV off the stand tomorrow and just open it up and look at the numbers on them, since I can't seem to find a list online. Lots of blurry pictures, but those aren't much help :x

Wow, 10 caps for $29? If you live in the USA, then follow PlainBill's instructions on how to order Panasonic FM or FR caps (use FC is the other two are sold out). Shipping from digikey is around $2.50 USD. I'm guessing 10 caps will be around $15 USD total.

The ebay auction also don't state the brand or series. Panasonic FM are high quality low ESR caps.

Dont forget to check the inverter board's caps as well.
