    Lg 50px1d

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a 50" plasma tv that I picked up from a friend who said that it was broken. When I got it home I plugged it in and turned it on. It turned on fine, but the only thing that seems to be wrong with the tv is that the pictures is fuzzy, and not very bright, also it looks like there is oil looking spotts on the set as well. Any ideas on what the problem is and how can I fix it?

Im not able to post a picture right now, any thoughts on what maybe cause the brightness and the grainyness issues of the tv? I've check the settings and that didnt seem to help.

Those symptoms sound more like your glasses (or dirt on the screen of the TV) than an electronics problem.

Seriously, I hesitate to give you an answer without a decent picture of the problem. In my limited experience one possibility is the Z-sustain board, but if you go buy one ($150) without providing a picture of the problem, you are a

I have the same issue. I just bought the tv for $100 and the guy said it wasnt used for 6 months because there was no picture. There was sound but there was no picture. So i did some research via this awesome forum and found that it needed a new Z-SUS board. Well i took the back off and looked around and noticed the cable behind the fan, going to the Z-SUS board was unplugged! I plugged it in and bam, some pixels started turning colors and I started getting my picture back. It looks like an oil spill on my screen with about 60% of the screen visible and when the screen changes some pixels turn black before regaining the appropriate color. I have pictures but they are not very good. Please help! Thank you

The screen is quite dark as well, Picture below.
