Im fixing my first tv that has no bezel holding the panel in just some sort of double sided tape, its a samsung q6f. was suprisingly easy to to take the panel out with a bent razor blade (thanks forum!) but i wanted to know what other people use to stick it back and could i use b7000 glue instead ?

Like Zomi said ... some high quality good double sided tape. Cut small squares and place about 4 inches apart all the way around the panel. Easier to lift panel back out again if need to service. Avoid glue at all costs ... no matter how careful you try to be you will have glue all over the panel and risk damaging or smears all over the glass. Glue hard to remove. I've been seeing a lot of the new TVs (samsung and LG only i think) maybe 1-2 years old suffering from sudden panel death and have been over 50% successful bringing them at least most of the way back to functionality if not all the way, with the tape masking of the LVDS pins method.
add this one to the list. the issue was on the left side of the panel and i ended up blocking just 3 pins on the connector that joins the two panel boards that make up the left side of the panel (it has 4 boards total) i didnt get the picture back to 100% perfect. i spent hours fiddling with which pins to block...07-17-2023, 10:22 PM -
Failure Symptom
No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.
Where is the short?
Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

I'm working on a Samsung UE70TU7020K.
It looks like a bad panel. There is only 1 FPC cable from the Tcon (built into mainboard) to the panel.
I'm using a piece of tap a few mils (covers about 8-10 pins), at different locations and have had varying results but nothing that is remotely watchable (multiple lines across all the screen, half screen and total black out on screen). 49UJ6500 LCD panel has a lighter band on top when first powered on. Goes away (or gets much fainter) after TV on for a few min. After powered off for awhile and power back on, same band appears. If powered on immediately after powering off, no or much fainter band. Running the latest firmware.
