I looked at a similar board over and I see several places that are labeled fuses but I'll be damned if I can tell where they are, I know some will have a label but just not be included in a particular design.Last edited by nomoresonys; 01-18-2023, 02:55 PM.Comment

ok, if you are sure you are getting a new mainboard, something you can try if that there is a cap and not a fuse, is just remove it with a soldering iron and try the tv, I have seen this work, that is removing a shorted cap and tv working with it removed.Comment

The fuses are in the photo, the motherboard has nothing to do with error 4 associated with the LCD Panel ...Attached FilesComment

The circled fuses are not blown.

This is everything related to the panel, backlight (leds), led driver, power led driver...

I think it’s backlight related. Unplug the blue tabbed cable from the main board and plug the tv in. It will do a backlight test and if it the leds are good the leds will stay litComment

Note you might have to unplug the lvds cables going to the tcon also.
I'm not sure as I already had the screen out and those cables unhooked when I discovered the led test cycle.Comment

It's going through a color pattern, checkerboard pattern. No signs of it turning off. It's playing ambient music as well.Comment

I found a set of all boards from a supposed cracked tv.

So I got this Sony and purchased it working.. got it home and it was 4 blinks red. Seller actually refunded me thankfully. Now it's massive to take apart and I know 4 blink can be the panel sometimes but not always..
But I found a method through other ways with grounding out the bl error pin on the LD driver board. Now the tv turns on and works.
Pin is number 27. It was either remove the resistor right next to the solder pad or solder the pad to ground. I soldered the pad.
Now what is this going to do to the tv? Is it just going to die shortly down the road?... -
I just removed the back cover to test the backlights because when I first plug it in it will flash once and then start dark but I can see the image. I got 131v on string 1 and 167v on string 2. Usually when I get a bad set the meter reads 300v and they won't light up. When testing, each set lights up inside the tv. When I plug in the power and check the leads with my multimeter both strings are only about 3v.
Does this difference in voltage between the strings indicate that the lesser has bad LEDs? Or is it normal that they are not the same voltage? I've read some about this tv and... -
For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...01-08-2024, 05:56 AM -

took on this OLED now.
Symptoms. Hit power, white light shows briefly and then 5 blink red code. TCON issue per chart on first picture.
I'm thinking I have a power board issue though, which is one of the options
Now to check pin voltages from PSU to main and PSU to tcon
