Sonos Playbase S11 dead. No led at the front

    Good days guys,
First of all I want to thanks all members of badcaps. This site and its members have help me troubleshoot and repair tv.
My issue is a Sonos Playbase S11 that completely died on me. Fuse check out ok. No indication of burn on the power supply board. The two big caps are showing 135vdc. I can't seem to find a schematic anywhere.
I need your help once again.
    Thanks in advance.

Canadian AC Voltage is 120VAC, correct? If it is then the Main filter caps should have about 165VDC measured between the + and - legs of the main filter cap.
What is the P/N of that SMPS IC, U15?, that drives the power MSOFET on the heatsink?

Hi budm thanks for replying. That's correct canadian AC voltage is 120VAC. U15 P/N is NCP 1937B1G.
        Thanks again for your help.

So recheck the DCV of the main filter cap again, the cap will be charged up to the peak Voltage of the 120V RMS, 120V x 1.414 = about 169VDC. So may be your meter is not calibrated or error in measurement.

I double check with another multimeter and am reading 160.3vdc on the main caps.

That is o.k. probably your mains are 110-115V.

Is odd because the power led on the Playbase is not on. There is no switch to turn it on. You just connect the Playbase to 120vac outlet and the the front led turns on.

Are there any schematic of this power supply board around. Could someone help to troubleshoot the circuit.

Does anyone know how to solve it? Maybe it's the software?

If you measure the DCV between the two legs of any one of the 3 lytics green caps that are glued together, do you get any Voltage when the AC is applied to the board? Be real careful not to touch anything in the hot, so to be safe you may want to plug the AC cord into GFCI outlet.

Thanks budm for replying. Below are my observations:

I have AC applied to the power supply circuit and the each one of the 3 lyrics caps are measuring 13.25VDC and it jumps to 14.53VDC and it keeps cycling continuous from 13.25VDC to 14.53VDC.

                              Thanks again

                                1) So the power supply is not dead then, that power supply is an always on power supply, it will run 24/7 as long as it is plugged into the AC outlet.

                                2) What is the DC Voltage rating as printed on the bodies of those 3 caps?

                                3) There are four lytics caps on the cold side, so check and see if they have any DCV on the two legs of each cap, also tell us the Value and Voltage rating of those 4 caps.

Hi budm. Thanks for the quick reply.

                                  1) If the power supply is not dead then that means the logic board is toast?

                                  2) the voltage rating on the 3 caps are 35V

                                  3) I verified the voltage on the four lytics caps on the cold side and all four reads 13.25VDC then goes to 14.53VDC and keeps cycling between the above values. The DC voltage rating on the caps are 50V.

The board you have is the power supply/Amplfier board.
Can we see the main logic board next?

I'm sorry I got into your topic. I didn't have any output voltage from the power supply
There was a short circuit (0Omh) on the three Green capacitors
As a diode, there is a mosfet Q4. It's been burned down.
As I replace it I will say or do it

                                          Hello.
I received a lot of HP 800 G2 DM this week, during testing we found one of these has dead one USB in the front right, there is no visual damage and contact cleaner didn't work.
How can i verify if it's a connector OR motherboard problem to proceed accordingly ?

                                          Thank you!

                                          Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

                                          hello guys,

                                          i need help to repair a edm-033 ps2
history : as always hdmi port and usb ports destroyed after unplugged
after change them, ps5 dead too : 1 beep, no blue light. after inspection 1.8v power was shorted, and because of dead panasonic chip. after remove it : no short anymore
                                          so i changed it
now i have got 5v stby,, 3.3v stby, 3.3v power, 1.8v power and no short on them
but the ps5 is dead again : 1 beep, near 10 seconds with power lines and then off, no blue light ...

i don't see any projection of liquid metal on pcb.
                                          ...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                                          by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                                          Finding a dead short component

                                          Hi guys!
I searched for the term "dead short" in the forum but no specific thread came up however if I'm just blind and couldn't see the thread talking about this please forward me to that direction.
So my problem is I don't know how to find the source of a dead shorted voltage rail. Dead short = ~0 ohm resistance.
I have two VGAs (HD 4850 and HD 4870), both dead shorted to ground on the memory rail. I have the boardview file for the 4870 and the memory rail consists around ~7892346 capacitors...
I have a bench PSU and if I try to inject voltage the voltage...
