Re: UniFi Switch 24 250W power supply
I'd be interested in seeing someone fix one of these.
I know of quite a few in service, so it's a bit concerning. Shame your switch is a few thousand miles away, else I'd have a go.

Re: UniFi Switch 24 250W power supply
Did a search for EA18363 and this came up as the second hit, quite interesting / disconcerting
https://community.ubnt.com/t5/EdgeSw...w/td-p/1747440
There is a link on the third page to a Youtube video showing components without the black magic smoke over them, to help in component identification.
I'd offer to help you fix it but seems you are a bit ways off, always wanted to go to Australia though, hmmm

Re: UniFi Switch 24 250W power supply
Thanks Per
I must be getting too old for this stuff - or too keen for it to be a fuse problem
There's also an F2 near the F1, out of the pic
Anyway, both fuses are open, but that's the least of the problems
This is what I found underneath the PSU PCB
This is the end of the road for the switch - even if UniFi PSUs were readily available, there's no guarantee that failure didn't fry the switch electronicsLeave a comment:

Re: UniFi Switch 24 250W power supply
No as you can see it's connected to the chassis ground.
The fuse is further down on the right in the same photo, heatshrinked standing up marked F1.Last edited by Per Hansson; 10-21-2018, 03:07 AM.Leave a comment:

UniFi Switch 24 250W power supply
This is inside a UniFi Switch 24 250W - quality power supply, all Rubycon
Unfortunately it doesn't power on - no reading on the 48V and 24V going to the main board
Is the black shrink-wrapped thing shown in the second pic a fuse?
It's denoted FDG1, doesn't show a Ω reading on my UT-61ETags: None

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by shovenoseGot this one for free because, well, it no worky.
A little research and there are tons of complaints all over forums/the internet about premature failure of these switches. The observation everyone makes about these is "they run hot" and failure occurring as soon as 13 months, right out of warranty, of course.
Upon removal of the cover I found a G0398-15011480A power supply that, when plugged in, was making a constant ticking noise. Multimeter confirmed the PSU was the issue. Output was cycling between 0 and about 20V. With output disconnected it sat around...-

by AmardilloLecroy power supply - this power supply is prone to failures. I have repaired mine a couple of times before. The problems with this power supply range from shorted out power mosfet, the green module pwm driver, aging EMI filter, shorted snubber etc.
I once dismantled a custom component that I cannot identify, no way of knowing if it was the cause, and thus I have no way of checking it. However the power supply can still power up and supply properly without this component.
This Component is not shown in the Schematic but apparently it is side piggy back mounted on the EMI filter as... -
by Gust zhangI have a 15 - inch Retina MacBook Pro from the mid - 2014 model. Here is the link: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=820-3662 . The battery broke some time ago. After I removed the battery and plugged in the original power adapter, the MBP could boot up normally. However, when I checked with IntelPowerGadget, I found that the CPU speed was limited to 0.8 GHz, and it ran very slowly. Later, I found a solution on GitHub. There is an open - source project called cputune that can set the CPU running speed. So I can now run the MBP at full speed. But another problem...

by Andreas_deHello!
i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.
Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?
