    Re: Ultimate PSU Overkill

    >Teapo's might not be absolute garbage like Fuhjyyu, but they're sitll nowhere near the likes of Rubycon or Panasonic.

don't want those in my psus, because by some miracle it instantly means 2x the price of psus with teapos.
good is good enough for me, doesn't need to be excellent.

    >Server grade Andyson isn't crap. Not the best, but not crap either.

crap because it's essentially a failed product from a get-go: who'll be buying this?
    for whom is it made?
    teapo in psu is good.
i said somebody will buy it....but it'll be waay too small number of people...

Yeah - pretty much nobody out there needs one, except for bragging rights. I've seen a few owners at other forums, but not too many.

I have a Thermaltake 1500W in my pile of review units... I don't even know when I'm going to be able to test that one. It's 230V only and the SunMoon only loads up to 1100W

So you do want them, you just don't want to pay more than they're worth. I agree.
A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

Thanks Wolf: sorry about Jonny, I didn't know he has retired.
The psu seems well built and ripple handling is near exceptional; still I'd be pleased to see an higher efficiency, good at mid load but not outstanding (at full load and near 80% efficiency, every 1% gained on efficiency means about 25 watts not drawn from mains: getting from 77 to 81% efficiency at full load translates into about 100W spared and a cooler psu) and better caps (uncertain about cooling in the long run: Teapos are sensitive to heat). OTOH I suppose buyers of this monster wouldn't care much about efficiency, components and associated costs

I have some bad Teapos in a year 2002 FSP460xxxx right now.
But, I suspect they failed because of the damned Fuhjyyu that's in there on +12v.

Have another same year same model FSP from the same source that was op tested on receipt and then stored as a spare. - As in it was tested but then never used because the Company required servers to have a spare PSU on hand.

See I told you that they probably used sub-standard caps the price tag doesn't dictate component quality anyomore.

What's the deal with Fuhjyuu are they out of business already?

Or have they changed their name so that they can still be manufacuring the same crap?
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

umh...teapo is standard, Fuhjyyu is sub, rubycon is over...kill...hehe..

teapo probably had a bad batch some time ago.
i can say it wasn't in the days when my msi6337 was made(so sometime in 2001) because those teapos are still just fine.
hell, even those crappy chhsi(was it the name?) lasted 6 years....

so this psu is a crap from whom-to-sell-it point of view(total concept failure if you ask me), but otheriwise it has ok build quality.

the tendency with power envelope will probably be to go down rather than up(with all the x86 cpus made for mobile stuff, and then finding their way on desktops too...).
most people don't really need powerfull cpu...
and those who really need it..well they'll never have cpu fast enough
(those encoding and processing video know this)

1991 Due to the need for expansion, contract with the big factory of TEAPO, the lead
of the industry to OEM our high voltage large capacitors was done with monthly output of 500 thousand pieces, supplying for power supply and computer accessories manufacturers home and abroad, despite a purchase of a new factory in Bade town.
1992 Move of the new factory to Lixing Rd, Bade City, Taoyuan County, where the factory
site amounted to 1,000 square meters, and automatic production and computerized lines were adopted with an increase of output to 15 million pieces.
1994 Another purchase of standard workshop at Jianguo industry zone, Bade city, Taoyuan county, where the factory site covered an area of 3300 square meters and the company was restructured as Fuhjyyu Electronic Industrial lncorporated with a registered capital of 25 million of Taiwan New Dollar, which was rated as one of the updating technology factories by Industry Bureau of the Ministry of Economy and Taiwan Electronic Testing center.

well as small automatic production equipment with monthly output of 40 million pieces. Contract with TEAPO was done to OEM its mall electrolytic capacitors and we became the first partner for manufacturing the product in the field with TEAPO.
1996 Due to changes in market, the manufacturing base was moved form Taiwan to Bao'an
district of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province of China and we cooperated with LICON company to produce Fuhjyyu electrolytic capacitor.
1997 Shenzhen LICON Factory got the ISO-9002 certificate and technically cooperated
with japanese Tosin company, which improved our quality a lot.
                        1998 Distributing UTX's X2 jumper capacitor.
1999 Establyshment of Fuhjyyu (Shenzhen) Electronic factory, which covered an area of 6,000 square meters with an monthly output of 60 million pieces.
2000 Transferring investment into Shanshui Donghui Electronic Factory (producing Fuhjyyu capacitance), which helped to improve the production capacity and meet the need of big factories home and abroad with monthly output being increased to 100 million pieces.
2001 Attainment of ISO-9001: 2000 certificate, and distribution of CTX's X1 jumper capacitor.
