    BTW, where did you get the diagram from? Are there any more info or more pages of the service manual?

    Boy, you sure run into bad transformers. This may be hard to get.
    Any label or sticker on the Transformer?
    I wonder if it is truly 55V-0-55V, that would make the +/-77VDC (55 * 1.414) power supply for the power amplifier section, the filter caps are only rating at 80VDC and since it is not regulated power supply, that Voltage can easily goes over 77VDC.

    Alright looks like I'm going to need a replacement transformer

    Did what budm suggested in another thread, disconnecting the transformer from the main board and fault seems here. Is literally exploding fuses.

    Theres no spec on the unit itself, but I have gathered from a quick google that's its a

    600VA Shielded Transformer (http://www.widescreenreview.com/news_detail.php?id=6387)

    5 Primary Side Cables (115-230v)
    6 Output Cables

    From the marking on the board thankfully its gives values.

    2 x 55ac
    2 x 12vc
    2 x GND

    2 X 12vc going to 2nd bridge rectifier RB154 (BD2 on schematic)
    2 X 55ac going into the main bridge rectifier GBPC2504W (BD1 on Schematic)
    2 X GND going into ground

    Any advice on a replacement?

    For R3 100K resistor to burn up like that I would check ZD1, D1, Q23.

    Yes this rectifier has 100V peak reverse voltage.
    You could remove the bridge rectifier and measure the output voltage of the transformer if you are uncomfortable with it. From the voltage ratings of the other caps it may not be a problem.

    Thanks, ill test the one fitted to see if it still works.

    just noticed in the schematic the main caps are supposed to be 10000uf 80v, and the ones fitted (which owner said were the originals) are 4700uf 80v!!

    and the bridge rectifier fitted is a KBPC2501, which is 25a 100a, so wrong part again?

    Got this Monitor Audio FB212 subwoofer, which unfortunately the previous owner has absolutely butchered the power board. Never seen such negligence

    Problem started out as a hum and original owner proceeded to change main caps with some ebay jobbies which blew spewing guts out all over board. That and hes changed the bridge rectifier as the one fitted is not the original. After the replacement main caps blew he took them out and put back in the old ones.

    So as it stands only the bridge rectifier isn't original (he says its the same specs but don't really trust anyone who has done this to the board)

    Visually as far as i can see there is a blown resister, which I've identified as a 100k Resistor from schematic. (Position R3)

    So what I'm trying to figure out is what the original bridge rectifier was from the schematic but following / reading them is a bit beyond me at present.

    Looks like its maybe "BD1 BD254", not sure if that's a part number or what?

    Hi all, a newby question about a bridge rectifier I'm trying to identify.

    I'm in the midst of reparing a battery charger in work which went pop, The bridge rectifier has shorted and took out a couple of other components. The rectifier in question has a part number KPB305G, and it looks like it's obsolete. Does any one know what I could replace it with?...

    My Fujitsu Esprimo Q556 motherboards blew up. At least fuse, bridge rectifier and capacitor got damaged. I have changed fuse and bridge rectifier (DF1508S), but I don't know what capacitor it is (picture). I know that capacitors size is 47nF, but I don't know other specs for it. Can you help me to choose right capacitor for my motherboard?
    There is 240V AC on input side of bridge rectifier and 340V DC as output on capasitors side.

    I have a 40 volt AC transformer that I put a bridge rectifier on, and I wanted to see the input signal and the output signal on the same screen on my scope, so I set one channel up with the test lead on one side of the input and the ground lead on the other side of the input, then I used another channel on the scope and clipped the test lead on the positive side of the output then the ground on the negative side of the output.

    When I connected the transformer to power, the wire that was connected between the ground lead on the second channel and the negative side of the bridge rectifier...

    Hi all,

    I’m working on a Dewalt DCR020 jobsite radio that won’t power on.
    So far, I’ve checked the following:
    • The mains is reaching the transformer
    • Transformer outputs ~15-20 V AC
    • Bridge rectifier outputs ~15-20 V DC
    • All fuses test OK
    • The on/off button signal reaches the PCB connector

    Despite this, the unit does not power up at all.

    Inside, I’ve identified some of the ICs:
    • ST7317 (appears to be an LCD driver, not the main MCU)
    • LM2937L (voltage regulator)Not putting out power, 0.5V on the input
    • Markings like FS1235, unknown IC
    • Board number:

    Power amplifier SMPS IGBT keeps blowing - Artcoustic PDA1000

    hello.

    I have two power amplifiers, both having their IGBT blown on the PSU.
    The original mounted IGBT where marked with IRGB20B60PD1PbF and the gate driver is a IR2156STRPBF.

    I looked at mouser and digikey and could not find any available IRGB20B60PD1PbF and somehow ended up using a Bourns BIDW20N60T.
    I replaced the gate driver, the gate resistor and both IGBT. But as soon power is turned on, both IGBT shorts out completely (gate, emitter, collector) and the fuse on the AC line gets killed.

    So I though i missed a capacitor or diode. I removed...
