Not too bad for 200-250 watts tops, of course if it had nice caps and filtering. But it seems ridiculously overrated for 520w.
Still, though, you shouldn't throw it in the trash can. They put out a lot of bad contaminants in groundwaters, even at good disposal sites.

Wow! now that's a GUTLESS WONDER!

4 diodes, missing parts, mis-spelt stuff, a "rip-off" name in the mix, caps of questionable heritage and a gross over-rating!

Who needs an input filter anyways?

Still, though, you shouldn't throw it in the trash can. They put out a lot of bad contaminants in groundwaters, even at good disposal sites.

But... it's ROHS certified! That should be plenty safe!

Yellow caps of some sort. The picture's kinda poor but most of the caps are leaking.

Big caps. I have no idea what brand they are.


This PSU's wires are 20AWG and fairly short.
It's extremely light and it's casing is extremely bendable. I've warped the casing beyond repair just by opening this thing lol.

The absence of a fan is because I ripped it out and used it for something else. This PSU has never been turned on without it's fan though.

It's fan is an 80mm Yate Loon Sleeve bearing fan "D802SM-12"
Fairly loud.

For those wondering, this thing still "works". It was used for 5 1/2 years without any noticeable trouble.
I can't imagine how unstable the voltages and ripple were though.

Thats the same PSU that was in my HP Vectra vl600 i use to have. It popped in my computer, but the little connector on it was for a internal backup battery the computers could have that went in one of the 5 1/4 bays.

This afternoon I found some good stuff at the industrial waste near my office: one LCD panel, one board full with Rubycon ZL caps, one full with unknown Sanyo caps and a DPS125EB PSU made by Delta.

Me and other parents are helping our children's school to renew the computer room.
One parent gave me a Techsolo PSU and said it is working but sometime gives problem with the mouse
I opened it and found a lot of bulging caps. Some caps brand are new to me: Jenpo and Lowes.

The PSU looks nice, it is blue and it is a modular type but I'm wondering if it is worth to recap it because I don't think it can give 400W
I want to use it with a AK77 MOBO I'm going to recap, tomorrow I will post some pics of it.

I'd like to see the whole pcb: heatsinks are substantial, cables seem average (AVG 18?), sloppy soldering and bad caps. Don't know if pfc is present, I doubt anyway, but if the rectifier is a mosfet and not the cheap 4 diode pack and the emi filter hosts all pieces then I'd keep it: an honest 250-300 W which is good for your Athlon system.

the monitor I used for 4 years
It would flicker for a while , somtimes when I turned it on .
I replaced the capxon with some rubycon ZL & KZG solved the problem

Dell 1504FP LCD with a FSP-041-3PI01 power supply board. The monitor goes dark because one of the back light transformers is bad. The custom wound Sparkle Power SPI 8TT00006 transformer with the (X) on it needs replacement.

The board revision is different. The date code moved. A logo below the date code changed. Several parts in the PWM have been changed or moved.

I don't think I've ever seen a board other than this one that fuses both incoming lines which definitely makes sense for 220v operation.

PowMax LP-7700D 350 watts(?) ran in one of my computers six years - never failed but pulled when I found out about PowMax quality!

Raptor LC-B400ATX 400 watts(?) 2 bad 1000uF caps replaced and 2 diodes in bridge were shorted, replaced with a one piece bridge rectifier - probably another PowMax class power supply
