I see what you mean regarding searches, I was searching under E570 and it didn't occur to use CE570 instead..

Seems my board has a shorted 3v ic, pu201 on pin 5, which leads to the RTC Battery. the short appears to be on ic itself and heats up rapidly when b+ is present. The ic is pretty od looking too, never seen one like this before on a mobo?

Start a new thread in the main laptop forum if you want further help with it,and post a link to this thread so members can get the schematic.Post the resistance measurements around that IC with no power or cmos battery attached
