I have a laptop here that I am trying to convert from a non-touchscreen version to a touchscreen version. I bought a touch screen LCD listed as compatible for this model and then I purchased the 40-pin LCD cable which was required (as it has the separate touch screen cable that splits from the main 40-pin end). I installed both parts and they work for basic display, but the laptop still does not detect it as touchscreen. I am not sure if the problem is because although the motherboard has the connector for the touch display cable, the supporting components may not be populated...
