I removed a shorted SMD capacitor near the MPPQ8694, and the short-circuit issue was resolved; do you think I need to replace the voltage control unit?

Also,
the fan sometimes runs at full speed and sometimes doesn't run at all; according to a thermal camera, a 5-pin component (917Y3) connected to the fan control unit reaches 100°C.

I would appreciate it if you could share the boardview and schematic files for the device.

Found a boardview for G3LB DAG3LBMBCD0 (17-ck1xxx), may be similar https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...71#post3901071

According to DAG3LBMBCD0 boardview it's an adjustable linear regulator PU9603 (looks like G917T11U, marking 917**), which supplies 1.2V to UMX1 on the other side of the board
I'm guessing UMX1 is shorted, it's the display MUX that switches between integrated graphics and NVIDIA GPU for the internal LCD

First of all, hello, and thank you very much for your assistance. The issue has been resolved; the fan problem was fixed by replacing the 19V-to-12V DC-DC step-down IC, and the graphics card issue was resolved by reballing the RTX 4080 GPU.
