I see at least two 330uF caps, witch is something that is nowhere near to be found in the Sony Vaio PCG-7144M notebook I should repair for my friend...

Where can I find the motherboard id? There is not much info on the mobo. There is on the PCB:

HannStar J MV-6
94V-0 0835

and

MDC Conn.

...and that it is. On the "USB Board 6 Layer" are some more words:
HannStar J
M790 MV-6 Rev: 1.1 CNX-438 94V-0

1P-1087500-6011 + s/n sticker: WR-89D-YH8-1194

But a different s/n is on the "Power Button Board" - ending with 2608 and there is also visible the M790.

Printed in the plastic at the top of the back of this NTB bellow the battery are these texts:

C-3598
FOXCONN A

TJC
TN7100F
>PC+ABS<

...and two tables, one from A to J with dent in A. Second with 08, 09, 10 values (presumably years) and then following 12 places (presumably moths) and in the 08 year is dent in the 9th table place.
Probably creation date September 2008...?

Then there is another sticker - 013-001A-8954-A with barcode. Same on GPU heatsink, both ram slots and WiFi adapter as well as on some cables... Hard to locate anything that even remotely says mbx-223 ... Please advise.


PS. are there components on the backside of the PCB?

did you remove motherboard out of the case ? laptop motherboards are double sided. check the other side.

Nope, I did not. These seems to be too many connections, so I did not wanted yet to push for it, before I know what could be wrong.
So, is the mainboard possible to identify somehow?

Sony VPCE range Board MBX-223 schematic

Hi folks I have a spillage damaged MBX-223 i3 CPU here initially was dead /no power. The bios pins and pad were damaged swapped bios from same model scrap board and repaired traces. Unit now powers up with no Video it only draws max 1/2Amp on the bench supply.
The GFX core was 0v so after checking around the regulator (PU25) and replacing pr127 and also Pu25 Im now getting 0.88v- 0.90v on coil PL19 (GFXCORE) . The screen continues to stay black on draw 1/2a and after a minute or so fan spins very fast also it will not switch of using powerbutton but will switch on?.

Any ideas would be great

Hi, have you fix it? From the LCD's LCDVCC(point 2 and3), where does it go to? I couldn't find U17.
