hi all.
i have a locked sp7 with an i5 by bios. tough part is the system was wiped prior or something so i have no bootable config to get windows running. However i can power up get the no boot config then presented with password i do not have.
on the other hand I can use a system recovery drive and boot to the recovery environment, unfortunately the recover from a drive feature fails at 99% and im left with cmd, system image, as my only options. I can access regedit, notepad and the SDD but i do not know where to go from there. I continually get the password screen and i cannot remove it. Any ideas would be great. i appreciate it and your patience, as i am just learning currently.Leave a comment:

by merulokHi guys, can anyone help? I have a UEFI locked Surface Book (original version, model 1703) and I need to get into the BIOS settings to enable the camera but password has been lost.
I've been reading the threads regarding Surface Pro 3 and 4 and how they differ in UEFI protection - is the Surface Book more like a Pro 3 (where password can be retrieved from a BIOS dump) or a Pro 4 (where it looks at though flashing a new file is needed). Clearly I'd like to fix this without dismantling the screen (as I will break it) - can anyone offer me any help? [Can I re-activate the camera without...-

by RickkapHi all
I've got 2 Surface 4 laptops that need to be unlocked. Is anybody able to remove password from it or supply a working BIOS? I've had a look around the board and only found one chip that looks to be it a winbond 25R256JWPQ.
Thanks!-

by comasutraHey folks,
i have a Surface Pro 4 1724, that is not willing to charge. The current status is the following:
- charging light is shining white
- in windows the battery and charger are recognized (plugged in, not charging)
- there is also no charging when the tablet is shut down
- all other subsystems work correctly
This is what i have done so far:- i did all troubleshooting mentioned on this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ry-wont-charge
- i followed the additional recommendations in here: https://de.ifixit.com
