Hello! I have two Dell Latitude 5530's with 3FE2 passwords that I need removed. They also have two chips, one 16mb and one 32mb, so I'm guessing this is a dual chip bios? The 16mb is on the visible side of the motherboard, and is named "winbond 25r128jvsn". The other chip, on the opposite site of the board, is a 32mb wson8 chip named "winbond 25q256jven 2213 6151 8w600". I tried to get the dump from this one first using the QFN8 probe but that didn't work so I have another one coming that has the little plastic piece at the end of the probes. I've also tried to desolder it from the board using a hot air gun and flux but that didn't work either.

I figured while waiting for the other probe I could get the dump from the 16mb chip, and was able to, but now that laptop won't boot. I'm guessing cause I fried the chip with the hot air or something? I did clean all the flux off the board after failing to get the wson8 off. I really want to learn how to do this myself, but I'm obviously running into trouble. I also lost the paper that had the BIOS code for the first one down, and since it won't boot I can't get it. I'm pretty sure it's the 3FE2 though. All I've got is the information below and the 16mb dump. And if the South Peak stuff isn't the information you need, I also have a picture of the decal on the board with the CN, MO and P/N. Grateful for any help!

I red in the post 286 (Futadmytro) that ONLY the 16MB file need to be written so I did it.
Unfortunately, error code 6-3 (BIOS corrupted) BUT I did the USB recovery procedure et VOILÀ!
No more message, the "chiffrement" is available under "security tab".

Yea, I wanted you to try the changes to the descriptor region, but I see it wasn't needed

So I flashed your 2 files, but it is EXACTLY the same.
So better flash only the 16MB EEPROM, it's fast and very easy to remove (big soic8 and very little things to remove), no need hot gun. :-)
