Entering all CAPS? Is that a zero or letter? I wonder if there is a check-digit/hash on serial? If you just want it to go away (don't care what serial number is) you could try 1234567 ... because I've seen evaluation-units come to me that way before.

by adiko93Hey, im stuck with troubleshooting my Dell 5540 i7 vPro with 203032-1 motherboard. Every time i try to leave manufacturing mode it stops booting. I've tried clean ME Region clean BIOS but nothing really helps. Any help would be much appriciated
Both chip dumps in attachments aswell as logs from MEInfo. I can't get the originnal bios to work, im only able to boot with clean BIOS
I've tried to update the BIOS via Dell Update (it skipped ME Region saying it's up to date) with /forceit flag, that didn't help and im suspecting the issue might be somewhere else

by chrome_domeHello all,
I am looking into flashing the BIOS on Dell Windows laptops.
The customers want these to boot to the dialog box that prompts the user to enter the Service Tag. On a new device, this would happen on the first boot.
On older models, we could use a hex editor to blank out the old service tag and this would work. But modern Dell laptops do not allow this.
We have BIOS from brand new boards, that we thought we could overwrite old BIOS with this fresh copy but that doesn't seem to work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.... -
by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

by estabilitoHello, i just swapped CPU(i5-8350u) from fujitsu lifebook e548 to Dell Latitude E7490 Board, all resistances are fine, laptop wants to boot but after 1 second draw of 0,3A its turning off, after pressing power on button same situation. I've cleaned ME region and same situation. Is it boot guard problem - and if it is, is it any chance to bypass this or this cpu just can't be used in Dell.
