Hi,
I wonder if someone can help, I have a surface laptop 4 model 1951 which i don't have the UEFI password for.
I would like to get it reset if possible and know I need to provide information and the bios backup. I'm currently having issues getting a bios backup and wonder if anyone can assist, I've checked the guides but there doesn't seem to be specific information for the surface laptop.
ThanksLeave a comment:

I have a surface 4 laptop (model 1951) which I cannot get past the UEFI/ BIOS system password as I do not have a record. Cannot change the boot sequence in the UEFI given no password, and cannot access windows as do not have the bitlocker key.
Would anyone be able to help guide me through what to do - have read various posts about scripts, certificates, BIOS dumps, but really don't have a clue how to do this. Have tried opening and taking out the SSD, but this did not reset the UEFI password. I cannot locate a CMOS style battery, so assume it doesn't have one.
Have all my data stored on network drive and onedrive, so quite happy to erase the whole thing - if only I could...
you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

I tried this but still no disp.
This surface laptop had a backlight flickering. I put some heat on the edp socket and some capacitors around (I think cold solder occurred) the socket, but after some days the problem came back. Then, immediately after turning it on, the system firmware update appeared, and during the test for the edp connector, whether it was broken or not, the system turned off and finally, when it turned on, the backlight was on, but no disp. When I pressed the F4 key to go to the bios, the display had some horizontal line on the screen with a backlight but no disp (the picture enclosed) and the CPU got warm. This line's place changed after the restart.

HI dear,
Surface laptop 4 1951
Sn: 036094623057
First the black screen system update bar showed and wouldn't complete(due to power off the system) , then the system turned off. After that, the blank screen and "backlight on", then the display wouldn't show surface logo, but the CPU got warm. The original bios have been enclosed. Please check the file and give me the proper bios.
