Its a different bios, the service tag is BDKH793 ,find it with HxD, search for NVAR then scroll down until you see it in the right hand column, in ASCII B.D.K.H.7.9.3 . It has initialised firmware as well, meaning if you were to use that bios you would have to clean the ME firmware first. You would run into an issue with the service tag as well and would have to edit in another clean bios region.Best wait for someone to unlock your bios

Hello here is the unlock file.
The offset lines that were edited are:
        000f30c0
        000f3e90
        000f40c0
        000f4e90
For GNU Linux I have a script for download on GitHub for people who are interested in this sort of thing.
I also uploaded a video to YouTube.
        Maybe the link is allowed.

im glad i checked, appreciate your help as always. Hopefully someone can help with the bios, unless you are able to advise which offsets need changed in my bios bin file, I am able to edit the file in HXD just not sure as to which 4 bits to change back to 00 as when comparing the untouched file from the first one from a few days ago the offsets dont match up with the untouched file from the second laptop identical model. the only difference i am aware of is i saw windows update perform a bios update when seting it up.

any advice appreciated, always looking to learn more

          Thanks

unlocking dell 8fc8 suffix is very simple, no need to invent "scripts" and discover the wheel. Open file with HxD, group bytes by 4, press ctrl+F (Find function) and search for hex 00FCAA and 00FDAA and modify only strings end in 00FCAA and 00FDAA with 00FC00 and 00FD00 - in your case 2400FCAA andB400FDAA. Most often they are in pairs, but there are cases when you'll find only one string ends in 00FCAA and 2 end in 00FDAA. Those strings to be modified are in 1st part of the bios (EC Region)maximum 1,2Mb, there are cases when you'll find strings in middle or last part of bios, don't modify them!

as I wrote, they are in pairs, just group bytes by 4 and search for blocks ending in hex 00FCAA and 00FDAA and modify them onto 00FC00 and 00FD00.

post the Service Tag..post the original content of the bios chip, the motherboard model, the full name and model of the laptop, etc.

Due to a lack of donations, server free space at a critical level, and possible closure of Bios Requests all donations are welcome, click:

SPI programmer is the solution, there are many programmers but the cheapest one is CH341A.
