I attempted to disable the onboard/soldered RAM from within the BIOS settings. After saving and rebooting, the laptop no longer boots. The only sign of life is a solid white power LED — the screen stays completely black and nothing else happens

Sorry for noob question, do I need to flash these through SPI flasher (opening the laptop is cumbersome due to being a 2 in 1) or I can flash it through software means, e.g. using the AFUWINGUIx64.bin from https://www.ami.com/products/aptio-v/ ?

I managed to restore the BIOS and also disable my internal RAM, but now it doesn't recognize the NVMe SSD — do you have a solution?

I think the problem is the memory soldering on the motherboard. Is it possible to disable this memory ?

Yes there is a patch method > https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...20#post3232220
Or You can use the hardware method (either remove the VRAMs completely or find the resistors in the boardview to disable them)

Dell Latitude 5530 BIOS Password Removal Attempted but I Broke the Laptop
                        by TopPop
Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...

Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.

                        I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.

The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a...

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2523nd - Dimm2 slot disabled after corrupt bios repair? Advice requested.
                        by Bloodhoundje
                        Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...

I have a laptop which i am trying to fix in which user enabled overclocking from bios and now it does not post.
Laptop with battery only: when power button pressed, power led lights for 10 seconds then turns off
Laptop with charger: white led in the charger and battery is charging, when power button pressed power led lights and it wont turn off

With multimeter i checked and i found out that:
EC chips gets 3.3 volts and it is not shorted (also no shorts on the board too)
Cpu power rail is fluctuating between 0 and 300 milivolts when charger is connected
                        ...

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ADA05 (81W1) — cannot enter BIOS, system always boots in Legacy mode

                        Hello.

                        I’m trying to diagnose a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ADA05 (Model 81W1).

                        Hardware

                        Model: Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ADA05 (81W1)

                        BIOS version: E8CN34WW

Internal drive: NVMe SSD (detected normally)

                        Symptoms

BIOS Setup is almost impossible to enter.

Pressing F2 during power-on usually freezes on the Lenovo logo or is ignored.

The Novo button opens the Novo Menu, but selecting BIOS Setup...
