Hello, I have a Dell XPS 13 9310 that flashes 3 amber lights and 6 white lights. Can I read the BIOS and reprogram it with the CH341A, or would I need another type of programmer? Thank you in advance.

I am almost 99% sure it is not a BIOS fault. 2 4 error is common on 9310, and either it is RAM IC's issue or even something else... Reflowing and also reballing IC's is a no fix. So, Chips itself or, as I noted, something else. I am at a stage where I will proceed with individual IC testing to exclude this as an option. Somehow don't want to believe that I am the only one taking the extra mile to investigate this... It is not a 1 million question, yet there are no answers out there..

You can see in this thread that some people were able to fix the 2-4 error by flashing new BIOS, I think of that error as a bit of an universal one, since after some research it appears that the error code is not only associated with RAM, but with f*ck allI am almost 99% sure it is not a BIOS fault. 2 4 error is common on 9310, and either it is RAM IC's issue or even something else... by TeslaI have a Dell XPS-15 (9520) with the LA-L402P motherboard. It seems to have bricked itself after a common BIOS-Firmware upgrade. Now, it just shows BIOS screen for a few seconds before turning-itself back Off (and doesn't seem to be fully Posting). I've done these many times before with no problems.
I was hoping to please have my own-thread to work-through this (hopefully successful) repair as a whole. Apart from the possible need to have a BIOS-dump fixed-up, I have a feeling I'm going to have other questions. This includes using my new XGecu-T76 for the first time (should be here... -
by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by TopPopSorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip... -
by mikeybassHi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

by capoplaysHey everyone,
I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.
The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." I asked my tech guy what he did, and he said he took the chip from another board and flashed it onto mine.
When I check the BIOS using the F12 menu Flash...-
