do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...l=ThisIsHow

I read 3 in Asprogrammer with the correct 25rh256cxiq selected, the other I read in neoprogrammer with W25Q256FV selected.

When I compare them in a hex viewer they are all different, even the three dumped with asprogrammer, used a CH341A and WSON8 pogo.

The goal is to remove the admin password, however I don't want to even attempt it until I know these backups are good as I've already bricked my other 5420 tonight!

    Service tag is C4617M3

    Thanks in advance.

Flash the bios again and verify what you have written to the chip. Check your soldering, put batteries back in afterwards.

Now there are constant restarts, the fan is running at maximum speed, and colors appear on the screen from time to time (red, blue, green)... Does someone have an idea ?

    I tried,
First attempt: the screen was red, blue, green, then white, and then it restarted 3 times for 3/4 seconds.
I tried to implement the original BIOS again, and it no longer starts (it restarts 3/4 times for a few seconds, the screen remains black).
I tried without the battery and the CMOS battery.

Dell Latitude 5400 Chromebook UEFI bios
    by jhanra
Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...
