Thank. but it only resets a few times and doesn't show up on the screen. I will send you its original bios. I think it's defective. I randomly copied the bios from the website and it booted, but when I entered the service tag, I agreed and it couldn't boot anymore.Leave a comment:

Thread merged. There are hundreds of posts in this topic, you will find many working bios versions here, just try some. Can someone help me? I have a Dell Latitude 5420 on my workbench, LA-K491P REV 2.0 2020 11 16, that won't turn on; only the orange light comes on when I press the power button. I know it's a BIOS problem; it came from another repair shop. I don't have the original file.

Hello
New test today: I flashed a clean BIOS, entered a service tag, then pressed Alt+F and booted directly from an SSD with Windows. I ran Windows for several hours; it performed updates, the computer rebooted, and then nothing again... I can't restart it.
Does anyone have any ideas, please? If I reflash the BIOS, the PC boots directly
but how do I keep it stable?
I've attached the original BIOS file.Attached FilesPremium supporters get full download access and other benefits.

HelloHello, could you please help me?
Dell Latitude 5420
Motherboard: LA-K491P Rev 3.0 (A02)
The motherboard was purchased separately, so I don't have its original serial number, but I would like to use the serial number JL7Y3J3.
Symptom: Won't turn on
Consumption of 0.04A
Tested with several BIOS versions from the forum: Factory mode OK, I enter the serial number and disable Absolute => OK, reboot, then shuts down and won't restart. If I re-flash the BIOS, it remains stable in the BIOS. But if I restart, it won't turn on.
Thank you in advance.

by TopPopSorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip... -
by SathsulSo, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...-

by TripTopHi
i have dell latitude E7270 with following symptoms:
- takes long time to restart.
- sometimes powers on and then off
- sometimes while working it just dies,
From googling online bios clean could possible resolve this?
i was able to save bios and was going to try bios clean myself but get an below error when i drop it in ME analyzer.(unsure whether this sometimes occurs or could be due to bad/corrupt bios)
As ME analyzer gave me an error i just decided to write bios with a cleaned bios from E7270 bios post.
I reinstall...-

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"

I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.
Since ssd is replaced and had clean install windows, i've... - Loading...
