I did exactly that and laptop refuse to power on after returning back the file, I had return back the back up file.

I select the windows key and auto fill with 00 via hex editor and change the (?) to (<)

Save and reprogram, laptop did not turn on.
Change only the AA553F to AA553C alone, without touching the windows key.
Same thing, I'll post the backup file, maybe you can help me with it.

follow rules of this forum and post laptop model and serial. I am using an hex editor for mac, is similar with HxD, AUTO_PILOT is there in your bios dump ... Click image for larger version

Thank you for your time and patient, I had to change the text string to unicode before I can locate it.

Sorry about that,I moved the file to my phone and uploaded here when I got home, I wasn't with the laptop when i made the post.

When I got to the office the next day I was able to figure it out, that's why I didn't post it again.

Hello everyone, can someone have a look at my file? I want to remove autopilot but there is no AA553F or AA553C near autopilor_marker in the file. Any advice how to remove it? Thanks in advance. Dell optiplex 7070

There isn't because it's another bios platform (AMI) and invalidation is made in another way.
                          Here's your file.

Thank you very much, I'll try it in the morning. I see the differences between the files, but could you share your knowledge how it works? Is it gonna be the same with other of that model? I've got more of them and I don't wanna waste people's time and ask for help if I could do it o my own. Thanks

I explained how it works in this thread. It's simple to open bios with UEFITool and see how it can be invalidated an entry, depends by bios platform.

Thanks for the answer. I think you showed me the right path to do it. I just tried to change the value with HxD and check with UEFITool and it's invalid even if it's 7878 instead of 8343, so just last question, can I change it to any value and it's gonna work or it has to be 0303 like you did it? Sorry for many questions but I'm just trying to understand it

you might think there is a reason I invalidated in that way, yet you want to complicate things ... put any value you want and see what happens, good luck!

I also might think that e.g. you were born on 3rd march and 0303 are your favourite numbers. Instead of giving simple answer you want to complicate things and write ambiguous phrases. I appriciate your help, but if you don't want to treat people without condescension just don't answer my questions. I tried to be nice in my posts. PS I tried two versions 7878/0303 and both work the same - autopilot is still on after fresh install

lol, thank you for trying to be nice when you ask for help! Even with photos you didn't understand what to do! Try your lotto favourite numbers but I assure you it won't work ...
Bottom line, my modified bios worked, yours didn't, so try to find Waldo in pics I sent you

Trying to be nice in every post, not only when I ask for help. I understood what to do from photos ("I see the differences between the files, but could you share your knowledge how it works?") but not why exactly that way. Did you read my previous post? I tired both files, yours and mine and none of them unlocked the pc

and what AUTOPILOT has to do with "unlock" the PC? Microsoft Autopilot enroll pc into a company and when you install a new OS it won't allow you to set an account offline.
