Hi all,

I am trying to remove the password from this E15 Gen 2 and I have successfully modified the IT8227E-256 read to remove the password, however the MAC address is now not showing up in the BIOS. I cannot seem to get the BIOS to be password free and show the MAC address at the same time. The MAC address is 6C24080B45CB and is from offset 3B040 - 3B045. I have uploaded the original read from the IT8227E-256 EC and also the one I modified. Can anyone please give me some pointers to why I cannot get the MAC address to show in the BIOS? Is there another part of the read that I need to modify? Any help is appreciated

Hi, You removed the password correctly. Normally, that shouldn't affect the MAC address
Did you try Lenovo utilities to insert it manually after the laptop was unlocked? > DMI editing by brand

I have not tried a BIOS update yet. I will try that tomorrow and let you know if it works. I find it strange that removing the SVP is causing the MAC address to show as FF, but all the other DMI is displayed correctly. Out of all the Lenovo's I have unlocked, this is the only one with this issue.

try clean password with FF, not 00

Hi Maxpower3. Thank you for the reply. I have just tried it with FF rather than 00, but unfortunately the MAC address is still showing as all FF. I will try doing a BIOS update like Sparo suggested to see if that fixes the problem. If you have any other suggestions then let me know and I'll try them. Again, thanks for the reply - EDIT: Just updated the BIOS and the MAC address is still showing all FF.
