DS809 not recognized by app when plugged in:

    I have a non-functioning DS809 I'd like to fix.
Basically it just isn't recognized when connected

    The DS809
    - LED lights up when USB is plugged in.
    - Changes colors/modes when its button is pressed.
    - Win-Device Manager shows the device when connected.
    - But the DS809 never shows the SN.
    - The DS809 instructions say it's required the SN show up to work.

I used my new RT809F (works of course) & the SN shows up.
    - Confirms the driver works
    - Confirms the application works
    - Confirms the connected USB port works for USB-to-Serial

    Any recommendations ?

I disassembled and looked for any damage or corrosion ...
I touched up any joints that could've needed it, whatever.

The whole thing's worth at most $150 (brand new working) ...
LMK if I should even bother.

Razor Blade Steath 13" RZ09-01963 plugged in Not Charging (new battery)
    by Shinju
    Hey All!

Long time forum member here with a problematic laptop issue!

I got a RZ09-0196 with a bloated battery (still worked and charged fine) I pulled the old cell pack out and installed a new cell pack in its place.

The laptop would not power on with the new battery installed without the power supply being plugged in.

When booting into Win10 (all up to date BTW) I saw the battery icon with 49% plugged in not charging.

TL;Dr version, old battery worked, charged but was bloated, installed a new non OEM replacement, laptop/windows...

Elitebook 840 G1 HDD not recognized, Please help
    by Zilicon
    Greetings everyone.
please, help assist me with the above PC problem.

The boars number is 6050A2559101-MB-A03. The PC does not recognized HDD, neither does it recognized NGFF SSD.

i discovered that the HDD does not spin.
there were activities at the SATA connection.

Pin 2,3,5,6 rises to 400mv then jump to about 4v, again to mv. It continues in loop that way. Same behaviour at pin 20,21,22.

    5v is present at 14,15,16.

Pin 18 which is reserved has about 1.8v, sometimes it increases to 2v+.

    Pin 8,9,10 is...

Asus Rog GL502VM Rev 2.0 - Power button LED on as soon as plugged in but no video or fans
    by zwect
I have this Asus ROG laptop (the 1060 + 6700HQ variant) which lights up the power button's LED when i plug the charger in but does nothing else. Opening up there are no signs of any burnt or corroded components, i've checked the resistance of both CPU and GPU's cores on the caps underside them, the CPU's VCCCORE's caps read 1.2ohm and the GPU's NVVDD read about 0.5 to 0.6ohm. I then tried to check any voltages while the laptop is plugged in (without any of the removable parts) and the GPU's core voltage instantly goes to 0.8v when plugged then getting slowly warm, the PCH does so too (not so warm...

iPad 5th gen (A1823) - No charge but recognized by finder
    by Carl0s-
    Hi,

Sooo - our IT got a pile of old iPads that the sales guys have been mistreating. These are free for grabs if you want to try to get one working. Thought I'd give it a try - if I get at least some life to I can give to my kid to entertain during a car rides.

But the iPad it self - its a 5th gen cellular model. When I initially plug it in it was completely dead. It was not recognized by my Mac nor it started to charge. Disassembled it opened up the battery connector and checked the battery voltage. My multimeter showed 0,7v. Had a spare micro-usb charging board lying...

MacBook Pro A1706 charge stuck at 5v when battery is plugged in
    by pluggedDan
    Hi all,

I have an A1706 that was liquid damaged, the logic board turns on and works when the battery connector is not plugged in, but when the battery is plugged in, the computer is stuck on 5v @ 30-40 Mah, and USB-C meter will reboot every 5 sec or so, pressing and holding down the power button will make the USB-C meter to stop boot looping, and if you keep holding it, fan will quickly spin up and turn off.

when the battery is unplugged and plug in the charger then plug in the battery it will stay on 20V and 1.6A-2.6A but when you unplug the charger, the computer...
