Re: Help hp probook 430 g7 bios pw
hi guys!
on dumping (my friend - service guy - did it) both chips the resulting files appeared 1mb in size. no idea why - maybe programming device was not set up correctly.
wb chip has been re-soldered and checked - probook booted correctly.
gc chip died after re-solder (caps lock on power connection and nothing more) and has been replaced with another wb with flashing its dump. booted ok although some bios update has been done automatically.
probook now seems working without troubles (of course bios password is in its place).
i realized 1mb dump size only after all that - when checked dumps at home.
does anybody know what could happen on re-flashing replacement chip (gd is bios itself, correct?) with incomplete dump? i suspect that probook might fix corrupt bios with its surestart feature and now the bios is exactly the same as before.
or if the bios is partially healthy then how can i fix it? what if i dump another's probook of the same model and add my part of origibal dump?Comment

There's no such model as "hp probook 840 G7". Your model is HP ProBook 430 G7 according to the bios dump in your post.

by studdy05Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-

by the_razI'm requesting a bios .bin for 2 of my hp Probook 450 G3's. Both of which I had forgotten the bios passwords. I stupidly flashed both of them with firmware "made" by the RCUnlocker software and I guess I shouldn't have. The last thing I did was flash both of them with RCUnlocker-fw thinking it would 100% work and left my programmer etc behind and won't have access to them for another 2 days so I figured I'd create a thread to see if I'd be so lucky that someone might have a working file laying around 😝
