                  There`s a virgin bios in this thread -> https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ighlight=086B3

Use a hex editor and copy your DMI from your backup to the virgin bios, the offsets are 3A0000 - 3A103F

                      Re: Bios for LA-G07FP

I have this laptop here as well. It shuts off after a few seconds. I found out which BID number I have so I downloaded the corresponding bios here. Then I inserted the DMI of the original Bios in the downloaded one.
Now the laptop turns on, stays on after some ram training but the screen remains black. A new screen does not change a thing.
Could somebody please take a look at the attachement? It contains the original dump and the clean HP bios with my DMI inserted.

What are you waiting for? You already have the original bios, BID, DMI... So if it doesn't improve the performance, then the fault is not in the bios.

With its original bios the laptop switches off after six seconds.
With the new bios it stays on, but does not post, so for me there's at least something with the bios. Unless the new bios doesn't to the point where the original crashes.
I can not prove to myself there's a bios problem.

Recently I used the official Lenovo bios updater software on my ThinkBook 13s G3 ACN (20YA0005GE). The updating process failed and I got a black screen after powering the device. Of course I did not make an own backup before using the Lenovo bios updater.

I bought a CH341A programmer and was able to make a connection to the chip while it is still soldered on board. But I did not realise that the chip was a 16MB size and selected the wrong size (8Mbit / 1 MByte) before reading the content of my chip. So the dump I did before erasing the chip is only 1MByte big. I fear that I lost...

                                          Hello,

i hope to find help her in the forum. It is a littlebit tricky. I searched many Days about disabling IntelME that was may major task. So i have a Clevo PD50PNN motherboard.

At first i tried to Backup the BIOS with tools direcly from Windows(normaly i am a Linux user). But no full success because not every part of the bios was readable. So i bought a modified CH341a for a Backup.

Backup worked but since the backup the Laptop is not booting anymore. I flashed the newest Version oft the BIOS with success, verfiy everything ok.
                                          But the...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                          Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                                          Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...
