I've just noticed that the Serial Number is not the same as my serial number L7NRKD004637296) Would that prevent the laptop from powering up? If so, what would I do to fix this?

No, it's not a Problem. Both Serial Numbers "L7NRKD004637296" & "L8NRKD01506435B" are referring to the same Model "G512LI-SB71-CB".
About the 1MB file, I think it's for a vBIOS (Graphics Card) and you need to take it from another working device with the same GPU.
