Hello, I hope I posted in the right section, I apologize if I make any mistakes but it is my first post in the forum.
Basically I have a Dell Inspiron 5406 2-in-1 notebook with these features:
- part number/service tag: BD35F63
- quick service code / express code: 24735957771
And this is the driver page:
Drivers: https://www.dell.com/support/product...laptop/drivers
and this is the bios that is installed:
Bios Inspiron_5406_1.34.0.exe: https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER12512215M/...406_1.34.0.exe
There are three problems on this notebook:
PROBLEM 1: Sometimes the notebook turns on, sometimes it does not turn on, when it turns on it works fine, but after turning off it does not turn on anymore, or while it is on it suddenly turns off.
PROBLEM 2: Sometimes while turning on it goes to LCD Test mode by itself and the screen turns many colors. To get out of this mode I have to force power off by holding down the power button.
PROBLEM 3: Another problem is that when I turn on the notebook sometimes the error message “TPM Not Detect” appears but in the bios it is already enabled. I have tried disabling it and later re-enabling it but the problem is not resolved. I have tried everything, bios reset etc., but the problem resolves momentarily and then later reoccurs.
I have already replaced the Dell internal battery and also the CMOS battery but the problem has not been solved.
Attached are the power on error screens in the bios:
I wanted to ask if you can send me a bios that solves these 3 problems.
Could you also explain me what is the procedure to flash the new bios?
Thank you, I have been going crazy for days to solve the problem, I look forward to hearing from you.Last edited by campione123; 02-21-2025, 08:15 AM.

post S/T, full name and model, motherboard model, etc.
post the contents of the bios chip even if it is corrupted..
you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow
Don't post pictures unless asked....
read the forum rules..

If I don't have a programmer, can't I dump the bios from windows or dos? I don't know if you can dump the bios with the program “FlashVer3.3.28” downloaded directly from Dell website?
I took the notebook apart and the information I could find is:
Laptop name: Dell Inspiron 14 5406 2in1
Motherboard: Dell 0FW6F0 / Version: A00
service tag: BD35F63

Or someone who can send me the bios.bin that I can flash with some software in windows or dos? Example the software “FlashVer3.3.28” that you can download here that allows you to flash the Dell bios?

Hi guys,
can you please repair this bios dump? gives backlight and nothing else - there is bitlocker on the sdd so maybe we can save the data
ST: 5ST4P93
EX: 12625892823
I tried other dumps, a few would not save the ST or exit manuf. mode and one from above that worked does not see the nvme. Keyboard/trackpad also don't work but maybe that's a different issue.
thank you in advance!

it is a Vostro indeed and the motherboard is 19862-1... I will head to the correct topic apologies for the mistake I got here because of the no-saving of service tag and similar board code (the bios given here also worked to fuel my confusion even further!)
thank you
"The Inspiron 5406 has different EC firmware to the Vostro 5502"
I am too tired or just an idiot. thank you again.
