    ASUS X705UVP Bios

    Hello,

My ASUS F705UA (this is standing on the baseplate) just bricked itself with an UEFI update.

Tried a bios dump from the www but problem is the same, no screen and battery light blinking white.

Could somebody please repair my original one?

    Mainboard: X705UVP Rev. 2.1

    Thanks in advance.

Those aren`t the stickers i would hope you would post. The stickers are like the ones in this thread - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=96604 .Sometimes there`s QR codes instead ,or no stickers at all.

So the laptop model is F705UA ,the motherboard silkscreened part number is X705UVP Rev. 2.1 ,and we don`t know if there should be another sticker or not (with a model number and bios version), so its hard to find which bios you need .

Your bios update was to X705UVP and that doesn`t seem to be working. The F705UA support page has X705UAR - https://www.asus.com/FR/supportonly/...HelpDesk_BIOS/ ,we`ll try that one

did you check if the bios from the "paid" site had clean ME firmware

I think the correct model is

X705UAP, because I can also find this string in my bios file using ctrl + f

          https://www.asus.com/supportonly/X705UA/HelpDesk_BIOS/

/Edit: No sucess. Could you build a dump of X705UAP, please?

              Thanks!

              But sadly, no change.

I can see that one rail in CPU area is not coming on, but since there is no schematic I guess the chance to repair it is very low.

Could it be that the KBC has a bad flash?

With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
                    by grimacelord
                    Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

ASUS ROG Ally X - (Handheld Gaming PC)
                    Model No: RC72LA

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

                    ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
                    by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                    Some issues
                    A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                    Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

Bricked HP Probook 450 G7 Bios questions
                    by studdy05
Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

                    Ive got...
