Dear lapfix, thank you very much for your help. The password has been removed. You are a better specialist than me. I periodically encounter the need to remove the password. Can you tell me where I can read how you do it - remove the password from the BIOS dumpComment

Dell laptops store the password in EC. However, some generators exist depending on the code suffix.
See: https://beta.bios-pw.org/ .If the website is offline try: https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://bios-pw.org/
Note: All passwords must be entered with a US QWERTY Keyboard, you can use a USB one.
Note: The 6FF1 suffix has a bug,use your service tag with the 1F5A or BF97 suffix instead,Example: 1234ABC-BF97 .
Note: The list of examples does not include some other suffix codes that do work, such as E7A8 .
Note: If the BF97 suffix does not work try it with the E7A8 suffix instead.
Note: There is no publicly available 8FC8 generator available at the moment.
The CTRL-ENTER-ENTER keystroke after the password only applied to laptops with a suffix (xxxxxxx-8FC8 for example), until Dell also required it in some laptops using System Disable 16-Hex algorithm, on which only the Password+ENTER was needed at first and then in some models you needed the CTRL-ENTER-ENTER to properly delete the system passwords, otherwise the password would remain SET upon the automatic system reboot if just doing Password+ENTER until the proper CTRL-ENTER-ENTER keystroke was performed in certain models.

hoaca388 thank you for your response, but i dont understand what you are trying to say.
You just reposted the "BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools" guide section for Dell, and exactly what i all ready tried.
I have a 5520 with a E7A8 suffix, but the password that is generated in the https://beta.bios-pw.org/ is not working, and i have tried every variant of "enter" or "ctrl+enter+enter" etc, that i could think off, with no luck.
Allways the same password error. Tried also with those other sufifixs just for kicks, but the same.
Is there any other way to get the password?Comment

The keyboard to enter the password must be US qwerty type.Last edited by hoaca388; 06-27-2025, 08:19 AM.

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by bmxlovahHi,
My Dell Precision T7910 died after enabling onboard SAS controller and applying RAID settings. There were no hardware changes between working and not working state, only setup (via bios -> controller settings). After applying settings and reboot PC turns on, flash leds (normally) but there's no further action, it just stays on with no graphics and no keyboard led's on. There's no Dell logo, nothing. I've tried resetting bios by jumper, replacing cpu's, replacing ram, removed/replaced cmos battery, disconnecting all drives etc. I've also dumped .bins from mobo chips SLI1 (16...-

by iwuHello,
I am not experienced in electronics, but I really want to check if my idea is possible.
I have motherboard replaced from Dell Latitude 5520 (11th gen on i5 CPU).
BIOS/UEFI access on that MB/PC is blocked by password which I want to get it know - even if I need some bruteforcing or stupid manual activities.
There was no computrace activated.
I was happy when I saw many posts about removing BIOS password based on .bin file dummps. I wanted to go little further - get to know the password from the dump.
