Hi everyone,
I need some expert help with an ASUS ROG Strix G531GT-AL004 that is currently "No Power / No Boot".
Laptop Details:
• Model: G531GT-AL004
• Motherboard: G531GT MAIN BOARD REV 1.5
• SN: L6NRCV00K160249
• CN: C72K
• MFD: 2020-06
The Story:
The laptop originally worked but was BIOS password protected. I replaced the original Macronix chip with a Winbond W25Q128.
I flashed a "Clean" dump provided from here. The laptop successfully powered on and worked for a few restarts, then it suddenly stopped responding to the power button. Now, only the Charging LED is ON, but there is no reaction when pressing the Power button.
I tried flashing back the Original Passworded Dump, but the behavior is the same: Charging LED ON, but No Power.
I have attached my Original Dump (read from the original chip).
Could someone please provide a proper Clean ME dump for this specific Revision 1.5 board? I really appreciate your time and help!
Thank you!

Hi have you tried removing the GPU MOSFETs? That alone should disable it no?
Disabling GPU power rail usually works but IDK about this model thoComment

If you want to try again You can remove the VRAM MOSFETs too. When it behaves like this I sometimes do that instead of DIMM_ONLY. I remove all MOSFETs from both the GPU and VRAM If the problem is related it should work (You can always ask and confirm this in the troubleshooting thread before attempting it I'm just sharing my experience)
Also if you want you can post the original BIOS dump so I can take a look along with the QR code as wellComment

Quick question. Someone brought me this laptop (G531GT) with a repair history of bios reprogramming from another store.
The problem now is that the soundcard (RTL) its not regognised. I dont have sound from speakers neither audio jack. The rtl soundcard is missing from device manager.
I saw that there is no S/N and MAC address so i assume that the flashing was done with a clean rom without DMI.
So i wonder can be the DMI-less rom be the cause of no sound ? I inspected the motherboard of course for damage/liquid ect. there is nothing.Comment

by ronaldopdiasI’m troubleshooting an ASUS ROG Strix B660-I Gaming WiFi motherboard and I’m a bit stuck at the BIOS level. What I’ve tried so far
- Attempted to flash the BIOS using the USB BIOS FlashBack (Q-Flash) port with a properly formatted FAT32 USB drive.
- BIOS file downloaded directly from the official ASUS support page.
- Followed the exact FlashBack procedure (correct port, renamed file, standby power only).
Issue:
The FlashBack LED does not blink at all — no activity whatsoever. Further investigation
Because FlashBack didn’t work, I:- Removed the BIOS SPI IC from

by TrademarkHello everyone,
I’m hoping someone can help me locate a verified original BIOS dump for my Acer laptop.
This is NOT a BIOS password removal request.
I’m looking for an original 32MB SPI BIOS dump to use as a reference in case my BIOS firmware is corrupted. My plan is to first dump and back up my own BIOS as soon as my programmer arrives. I am not planning to blindly flash someone else’s BIOS.
Laptop Information- Model: Acer Predator Triton 16 PT16-51-99GL
- Motherboard: DA0ZQDMB8AE Rev. E
- Main SPI flash: Winbond W25Q256JVEN (32MB)
- Secondary

by kinojk2Hi, Thanks for all you do here.
I have attached my 16MB dump.
EDIT2: All hardware working fine, I think I just need to update my linux booatloader and all gucci
EDIT:
I can get into bios now! I reflashed as instructed elsewhere. With a minimal POST (just 1 stick of ram , GPU, CPU, no drives) I have loaded into BIOS. I am about to reinstall my other hardware components now.
The clips are such a pain to use, soldering would be a great skill to have.
Thanks for the advice in other threads!
To answer my own question, I didn't...-

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-
