Re: Hp probook 440 G5 - black screen after windows bios flash
I tried it but no success... The capslock lights up for 2 sec, the charging port led blinks 3 white short, 1 long amber, 3 white short. I tried to reseat the memory, and other modules. I think its a bios issue, it charges the battery, and i got 3.3 on the power button, and 5v is ok too.
The board number is DA0X8BMB6G0 rev. G.Comment

Re: Hp probook 440 G5 - black screen after windows bios flash
I got a similar notebook and save the bios image. I wrote to the original notebook and still the same problem. I can read back the image from the eprom, it works fine but the notebook still won't power up. The another notebook done the same update to the version 1.14.. I just catch a glimpse of the flash and it made a type c controller ic frimware update... Maybe it could be the case with the original one, that it fked up the usb controller update???Comment

by abhorsenHey guys,
Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.
Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27
Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...-

by bad0menzI wanted to remove the BIOS password on my Omen 16, so I used a ch314a to flash a modified BIOS file. Based on readings, the chip seems to have been programmed correctly, however the computer won't POST or boot—no fan, and either the power button blinks 1 long 1 short, or the capslock blinks once before shutting off.
There shouldn't be any shorts or physical damage from what I can tell
This Omen probably has HP SureStart Gen4, a firmware-level security feature embedded in the BIOS, however I've been told that "just by flashing to the dedicated flash there should... -
by riallioHi Guys
I need help repairing/rebuilding the BIOS for an HP ProBook 630 G8 with no display.
I have read the BIOS chip twice using a CH341A and a WSON8 probe. Both reads match exactly, so I believe the dump is reliable.

by TyMercerApologies if this is the wrong forum, but I'm not looking for a specific BIOS file, I'm trying to understand how one makes a clean BIOS file. So here's the background. I have 2 HP EliteDesk 800 g2 mini 35w pcs. One is working fine; the other doesn't have display out or working USB's nor does it have any flashing error lights. The CPU does get worm enough to cause the fan to spin up, so I think it's posting, but I just don't know. I had it working at one point but trouble started when I tried to put in a drive caddy that had a cooling fan on it. I thought it would be compatible but wasn't...
